Marcel June 18, 2019 for Model Number LTF2940ES3 Washing machine won't go into spin mode with clothes in it. The tub just keeps rolling 1 direction, then reverses, over and over. Without any clothes it spins normally at high speed. With just a couple of very light items, it kicks into spin mode, but tube jumps hard at beginning of spin cycle to get going. Then machine shakes quite a bit during spin cycle. Already changed belt 3 weeks ago and it worked fine until 3 days ago.
1 Answer Marcel, you may want to test the windings of the motor 137043000 to ensure that they are in good condition. With the power disconnected from the washer, you will want to test directly at the motor contacts as follows: M1 to M2 for 5.3 ohms, M2 to M3 for 5.3 ohms, M1 to M3 for 5.3 ohms, and M5 to M4 for 118 ohms. If this checks good, then you will want to check the tension of the belt and that the pulley 5304506264 is snug and not loose on the spider shaft assembly. If those check good, then you will want to check the spin basket 137105900 to ensure that it seats firmly in place and does not have any independent wiggle from the outer tub 134507120. If it does, you will want to inspect the spider shaft and the bearings for wear. If this all checks good, then it is possible that the shock absorbers 5304485917 are bad. Read More...
Mike C March 05, 2019 for Model Number GLTF1040AS0 I have a stackable unit, however to replace the springs I assume that I must remove the top to replace the springs. Just replaced the shocks, not as easy as the video depicts. Unit still shakes so only option is the springs. Do you agree?
1 Answer Mike, You would want to check to make sure that the spider is not broken but the springs would most likely help. Read More...

Shon T May 26, 2015 for Model Number FWT445GES2 One spring comes off during spin. I put it back on but it comes off at end of cycle. What parts should I replace.
1 Answer Hello Shon. If the spring is coming off, you will need to look for a bad cabinet or excessive movement of the tub, which could be caused by bad bearings. Also, make sure the spring it's self is not bad on the unit. Read More...
Jimbob August 01, 2014 for Model Number GLTF1670AS0 I watched your video on how to replace the spring on the tub and the instruction says to make make sure the bottom of the spring on the tub faces the rear. That works for the spring on the one side but does the spring on the other side need to face the rear as well? The springs are the same and it seems that the only way to get open side on the bottom of the other side to face the rear would be to hook the top in position first and then how would you connect the bottom part? Thank you Jim
Terry January 05, 2014 for Model Number FWT645RHS0 Where do the springs connect. The right spring on our washer is just attached at the bottom. where does it hook too?

David April 25, 2013 for Model Number fafw3574kwo My washer "walks" a lot and acts out of balance. Would this be the shocks or the adjustable feet not being correctly adjusted?
1 Answer David, You will want to check the levelness of the unit to make sure that it is leveled. Also check the feet to make sure that the rubber on them are not damaged. If the rubber is damaged this could cause issues with walking. You can check the shocks by pushing down on the tub and if it springs back then the shocks are ok. Read More...
Bud September 12, 2012 for Model Number GLTF1240AS0 I am ordering suspension springs. I don't see a rear suspension spring on my washer. Does this model have a rear suspension spring?
Tyler August 25, 2012 for Model Number 417.39012890 As above, I have replaced the shocks, but still have a lot of play. How do I know if hte springs are ok? I removed the upper cover and they are not broken and seem to be secure. How do I check the inner tub to see if its loose?
1 Answer Hello Tyler. The springs should be fine. You need to move the inner tub back and forward and up and down. If there is play, the outer tub assembly will need to be replaced. Read More...
Johnl June 28, 2012 for Model Number GTF 1040 AS RE: Replace upper springs: To raise the tub assembly, does this involve disconnecting the drain assembly and removing a pin from each of the lower shock absorbers? Thanks.
