Joe May 15, 2023 for Model Number PLRU1778ESO Replaced Temperature Control 5304497345 / AP5950025 and now heat exchange freezes up and then water is pouring onto the floor of refrigerator and eventually pouring out onto the floor of the kitchen. What will stop this?
1 Answer Joe, replacing the temperature thermostat should not affect the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is what connects the evaporator to the compressor. This would indicate a sealed system issue. If the heat exchanger freezes up and then thaws out when it cycles off, that could cause water to run unto the floor. Read More...

Dave December 11, 2020 for Model Number 253.60722009 My garage refrigerator only either is off or it freezes everything not sure what to change. Can you give some advise.
John September 13, 2019 for Model Number 25360722006 So, the fridge started freezing everything. Replaced thermostat (5304497345). Ran for a day. Now doesn't run. I can hear a click from under the floor panel when I turn on the t-stat. Pulled the t-stat again and disconnected all wires thinking I did something wrong (didn't make a mental note of which terminals were hooked up...doh) and reconnected them based on the Q & A here. Maybe the run capacitor? Or did I not get the wiring right and cooked the new t-stat?
1 Answer John, based on the information provided, with the clicking coming from under the cabin when the thermostat is activated, the issue would either be with the start/run relay 216954208 which is the most likely, or with the compressor itself which is less likely. Read More...
Jack S. June 25, 2018 for Model Number FRU17B2JW5 The temperature control on our refrigerator part 216807880 but the replacement part AO3407505. Not sure which wire goes on each prong. Ground wire okay but other 3 not sure. Have one top prong and two bottom prongs side by side. Wire colors are: blue, black, and red.
1 Answer Hello Jack, The temperature control for model FRU17B2JW5 is 5304497345. Part AO3407505 does not come up as a valid part number. The black wire is the hot wire that connects to terminal 6, the red goes to the ambient thermostat from terminal 3, and the blue goes to the defrost timer and fan relay from terminal 4. I know there are only three terminals on the temperature control but they are labeled 6, 3, and 4 by the manufacturer. Read More...
