Justin January 11, 2016 for Model Number gleq2152eso My dryer wont heat. I dissasembled and replaced the entire heating element assembly which includes the high limit thermostat - which did test as not conducting. After reassembling, the heating coil is still not activating. The blower and motor function fine and all airways are clear. What is my next step? Replacing the thermal limiter?
1 Answer Hello Justin. You will need to trace and see where your losing power to the element at. Once you locate the bad part, you will need to replace it to get power back to the element. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jp October 09, 2015 for Model Number Fridigaire gallery deyer My thermal limiter failed 2 Times this week, I clean the exhaust and the piping , but it was like new, could it be the thermostat that is the problem ?
1 Answer JP, if you're sure the venting pipes and vent hood are clear and the lint filter is clean and the dryer isn't overloaded then yes, it could be a sticky cycling thermostat. Read More...
Dennis K August 11, 2015 for Model Number GLEQ2152ES0 Unit heats up and drys for a few minutes but then stops heating. On the readout where the time shows a light runs in clockwise circles around the display. Back of drum is hot so heater working .high limit therm has continuity at room temp. Thermal limiter has continuity at room temp. Control board has been replaced. There are no air blockages. Still won't continuing heating with the vent disconnected. I am stumped.
1 Answer Dennis, You will want to check the high limit thermostat when the unit is hot to see if it is kicking out. This issue will likely be caused by a faulty control thermistor 134587700. Read More...
J B June 27, 2015 for Model Number BCEQ2152ES1 Hi, there is no heat in my dryer. Except that, everything is fine. I saw the helpful video to change the "Frigidaire Thermal Limiter". Could it be something else?
1 Answer J.B. You will want to test all the thermostats and thermal fuses on the unit for continuity. If they have continuity then There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor and second the timer. The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the timer side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad and if there is 120 vac then the heater would be the issue. If there is 120 vac at each point then the heater is faulty. Read More...
Cayetta I June 25, 2015 for Model Number GLEQ2152EEO My Dryer is saying door open, then shuts down. I think it my Thermal Limiter can you help me. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Cayetta. If it is saying open door, then you need to make sure the door latch is good and if so, replace the door switch 134813601. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Chris May 01, 2015 for Model Number FASE7073LW0 My dryer will show a E-64 code and stop approx. 15-20 minutes into the drying process. Heavier loads like jeans will go 30-35 min. What could it be? I do have heat...
1 Answer Chris, The E64 error code represents a open heater circuit. Check the heater coils and connections for open circuits and replace the heater and/or wiring. If this does not correct the issue then the control board is the issue. Read More...

Bill M March 17, 2015 for Model Number GEF331AS1 My dryer will not shut off on the more dry - less dry side. I think I replaced the switch 2 years ago.
1 Answer Bill, The most likely cause for the unit not drying on the more-less dry setting would be a faulty control thermostat which is part number 131298300. Read More...
Chelle February 15, 2015 for Model Number Fase7073lw0 My dryer will run all of the cycle and the last 2/3 minutes I get the error code e64. It gets hot and drys my clothes. We took it apart and cleaned it good, does it sound like elements or the sensor?
1 Answer Chelle, The issue with the unit would be a heater circuit that is opening. You will want to test the heater and thermostats for continuity. Check the wiring to the heater to make sure that there is no damage. Read More...
Brian January 09, 2015 for Model Number FSE748GFS0 My dryer is taking too long to dry. Back of unit is very hot, so heater filament must be okay. No air flow obstructions. When doing load of towels, opened door to check temp. Air was very warm, but not hot. Any recommendations? Thermostat or limiter or both?
1 Answer Hello Brain. You have to have a venting air flow issue. Run the dryer without the vent hooked up and see how it does. Also, clean out the blower wheel and lint air duct. Read More...
