The Thermistor Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It plays a critical role in monitoring and regulating the internal temperature of the refrigerator. By sending temperature readings to the control board, the thermistor helps maintain the appropriate cooling levels, ensuring food stays fresh.

Causes of a bad thermistor can include electrical failures, exposure to moisture, or physical damage.

Symptoms of a bad thermistor include:

  • Inconsistent or incorrect temperature readings
  • The refrigerator running too cold or too warm
  • The compressor running constantly or not at all

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Hello Rocky, you'll want to test the heating element and defrost thermostat both of these parts are located on the evaporator. If both these parts test good you'll want to replace board part number A01078804. Thanks!

Hoitoto, the thermister reads temperature in ohms of resistance and sends that information to the main control board. The control board turns the cooling on and off based on that resistance reading. Any failure will be in the thermister or in the control board.

Terry, For this issue the most likely cause will be a faulty thermistor keeping the damper closed. If the thermistor checks ok then the damper will be the issue.

Tim, When testing a thermistor you are looking for a resistance reading and at room temp that reading should be about 5K ohms of resistance.

Jamie Pancake for Model Number FFHS2611LWHA

This refrigerator showed a H1 code and everything thawed out. Then it was unplugged and plugged in and started, cooling ok. Then it happened again. Unplugged it and back in and it started again. Could this part be the problem? When it thaws out everything but the lights is off. I ran it through a diagnostic test cycle and every thing checked, even the thermisters. It has been working ok for about 4 days now. The only error code it detected was the e27 the alarm sounding for the high refrigerator temp. When it showed the H1 code and goes off and thaws the alarm does sound each time.

Jamie, The H1 that you are seeing if it is in the freezer means that the temp is above 26 degrees, in refrigerator window would mean refrigerator is above 55. With everything being off and unplugging and plugging back up corrects the issue then this would most likely be a control board issue. The part number for the control board is A01078804.
