1 Answer Hello Bob. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Kristl October 31, 2013 for Model Number Crosley CDE4500KWO I have a Crosley Dryer that will run for 10 minutes, and then shut off. If I run it with no heat, it will run for the full cycle. We have pulled off the vent hose, and it does the same thing. I am guessing that we need to replace the thermostat or the high-limit thermostat, but need to know which part to order. Maybe the thermistor, too? Replacing the parts is easy, I just need to know which to order. --Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Kristl. You will need to order and replace the motor 5304529782 on the unit. It is overheating and shutting down. Read More...
Kim October 23, 2013 for Model Number AEQ8000FE0 I seem to be having to replace my heating element coils too often... the last one only lasted one cycle and burnt out! Please help me figure out if I need to replace the High Limit Thermostat or the Thermal Limiter or both? hank you in advance!!!
1 Answer Hello Kim. You need to check and see if the vent is restricted. Also, test and make sure the heater is cycling properly. If not, you will need to test the cycling thermostat in the unit. You can test all this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Affrustrated Dryer Buyer September 28, 2013 for Model Number Frigidaire affinity fase7073lno Dryer gave an error e63 heater. I cleaned out some lint build-up out of the vent hose, now dryer shows door open & does not start as well as the interior light not coming on. I have replaced the door switch to no avail, hoping that would allow the light to come on & fix door open error. Nope, still same issue. If I replace the thermal limiter part AP4368739 will this take care of the lighting issue when door is in fact open (i.e. it will come on) & when door is really closed, door open error will go away & the dryer will work? Please help solve my mystery!
1 Answer A frustrated dryer buyer, Based on the information and checking the tech sheet it sounds like you will want to check the thermal fuse on the blower housing to make sure that it has continuity. If the thermal fuse checks ok then you will need to replace the main control board. Read More...
Robert August 11, 2013 for Model Number Frigidaire FEQ1442E0 Dryer gets extremely hot to touch even when set on Air Fluff. Cleaned the vent thoroughly and even checked dryer with vent disconnected - still gets extremely hot. When removing top to check the themal limiter, I noticed a shorted component on the front control panel. It is the far left component of the front panel and has two wires connected. It is attached to the main board. Can you replace this board? Do you carry this particular part?
1 Answer Robert, The part that you are referring to is the heater relay on the control board. The control board can be replaced and is part number 134484212. Read More...
Harry June 25, 2013 for Model Number LAQE7000LWO Hello, I have a frigidare affinity dryer Model # LAQE7000LWO. The dryer will run and heat just fine but after about ten minutes it will beep three times and display an E64 error code. I have cleaned the dryer and checked that there is sufficient airflow out of the vent? Any help would be appreciated
1 Answer Hello Harry. The E64 error code is telling you that there is a problem with the heater You will need to take the dryer apart and check the heater circuit. You have the heater, thermostats, and the... more wiring. The computer is sensing that the heater circuit is open, or in the state of not conducting electrical power to the heater. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Jesse L. April 11, 2013 for Model Number older model frigidaire stacker washer/dryer gallery series Problem: -Clothes taking too long too dry -Heating element will heat for about 2-3 min then cycle off, then and off etc... What I've done: -Dryer exhaust was painted shut. Fixed and used brush to remove about a garbage bags worth of lint! -Replaced the thermo couple that was directly attached to the dryer exhaust, not the one by the element. -Removed drum and verified element is in good shape and not grounded out. Confusion: -Does the dryer normally cycle on and off? -Is the high limit mounted by the element or to the exhaust? I don't know which one I've replaced? -The switch attached to the exhaust continues to cycle on and off -My amp meter read a consistent 19amps regardless of high, med or low temp setting Thank you. I wrote another question just before this one but it lacked detail so please disregard.
1 Answer Hello Jesse. It sounds like the unit is still clogged with lint. Check the inside of the dryer where the blower wheel is located and see if it is clogged. The heat should cycle on and off, but the long dry times is the venting for the unit. Read More...
Jesse L. April 11, 2013 for Model Number frigidaire stacker washer dryer The dryer heats for approx 3 min and then the high limit cuts out for about 2 min. It continues this cycle. I replaced the high limit switch suspecting that it was cutting out improperly but no change in operation. The element is in good shape as has not grounded out to the frame. I have now removed the thermostat hoping that is the problem. Tested it on a frying pan and it got very hot before it opened, but it did open? There was also a smaller nickel sized contact which face the back of the machine? Can you offer any other clues?
1 Answer Jesse, The smaller nickel sized thermostat should be the "thermal limiter" It is a "one shot" thermostat, if it "opens" it doesn't reset, and the dryer won't operate until it is repalced. If the hi limit thermostat is opening, and you've replaced it, your first check needs to be an air flow issue, Have you checked the exhaust vent pipes and vent hood for clogs, restrictions and kinks ? You'll also want to check the lint filter, blower housing, and blower wheel for lint, restrictions and air leaks. You may also have a "sticky" control thermostat, nort opening at the preset temperature(145-155 dgrs.) and allowing the dryer to heat to the hi limit temperature. Read More...
