Norman November 26, 2014 for Model Number FWT445GES2 Like most people I'm having trouble removing the old vane. I removed the 1 screw, and the vane moves slightly along the long axis. But I cannot get the tabs to release from the drum. Is the general procedure to squeeze the vane enough to release? Or do you use a tool, line a thin blade screwdriver to push the tabs enough to release? I tried both methods with no luck.
1 Answer Hello Norman. You can try to squeeze on the vane to get to release otherwise the flat blade method is the only other way. Read More...
Daycare Lady July 16, 2014 for Model Number 417.44102300 I have taken out screw that holds in the washer vane and tried sliding it forward but it will not move. My vane only has the small holes on top so I don't know which one has the tab under it to loosen the vane. Any ideas as to what to do?
1 Answer Hello Daycare Lady, The easiest way to do this is to go ahead and order the replacement vane. When it arrives, compare it to the one inside the unit. This way you can tell for certain which side the clip is on and how to release it. Read More...
Karah May 20, 2014 for Model Number Gltr1670fs1 Hi, one of the vanes on my washer broke. I am ordering a replacement now. Is it ok to run a couple loads of laundry in the washer with one vane missing? Of course it waited to break until I had a bunch of clothes to wash :)
1 Answer Karah, With one of the vanes being broken, it would be best to wait until the washer is repaired to use. This issue would cause the unit to not disperse the clothes evenly and can cause the unit to get off balance and cause more of an issue. Read More...

J September 23, 2011 for Model Number 41744102301 To remove the broken vane in my washing machine, I see one screw. I removed the screw but quesion how to get the vane out. Do you slide it forward or pry it out with a screw driver? It seems like it is still connected to something.
1 Answer Hello J. If the screw is removed from the vane 131274600 and it feels loose, you will need to unsnap the tabs holding it into the drum assembly. Hope this helps. Read More...
Rick August 03, 2011 for Model Number GLTF1240ASO Does this vane support the front of the drum, if so, how many are required? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Rick. No, the vane 131274600 is used inside the basket to move the clothes around. If the front of the tub is loose, you will need to replace the outer tub assembly 131525500, the bearing is bad. Hope this helps. Read More...
