Hello TV. ULTRAWF is the correct part number. There is no need to turn off the water or the unit. Just replace the filter. Then run about 2 gallons through the dispenser to remove any air. On most models, you must reset the filter light pressing the reset button on the dispenser.

Hello Michael. No, if the water works in the door, it is not the filter. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Ben, The filter bypass for this model is 242294402. The issue you mentioned sounds like the defrost drain has frozen up. This can be thawed out with a hair dryer and the drain should then be "chased" with a piece of weedeater line and then followed by about one tablespoon of white vinegar to discourage the formation of algae.

Hello Steve, The filters' life is dependent on the clarity of the water. The more sedimentation and mineral deposits in the water, the quicker the filter will clog.
