For Frigidaire Frigidaire Puresource Ultra Ultrawf Refrigerator Water Filter (Part Number: OEM13365483)

Larissa, The tube would not have build up and is made to be a yellowish color. This just helps when hooking up the water lines to the water valve. The most likely cause for the unit not dispensing water would be a bad water valve.

Bradley, With the water filter resetting itself, this would most likely be caused by a faulty membrane switch that has a stuck key. The part number for this would be 242166903.

Chris, If your icemaker has a test button on it then you would push the test button and let the icemaker cycle. You will need to do this several times to flush the water line.

Hello Ruth. Yes, there should be a button to reset the filter light that you will need to press and hold to reset it. This information should be in your owners manual. Thank you.

Hello Dotson, Some filters require flushing with at least two gallons of water and it is also possible to receive a filter with a factory defect. If you ordered the filter from us and flushing it further does no good, please call us with the model and serial number and if possible, the order number, at 1-877-477-7278 for a re-ship under the one year part warranty.

Amy, For the bulbs burning a hole in the top of the liner there is really nothing that can be done for that. As for the water filter being replaced and the water not working, you will want to make sure that the filter went in all the way. If it did then remove the kickplate at the bottom of the unit and disconnect the water tube. Push the water lever on the door and see if water comes from the tube under the unit. If not then the valve sounds like it would be the issue. If it does then the fill tube in the door is frozen and you will want to check to see how cold the freezer compartment is getting and adjust the temperature setting.

Mike for Model Number FGHB2844LF7

My ice maker "pure source ultra Ice" maker started to make a noise. As I pulled out the ice tub --- I noticed that there was a big chunk of ice in there that didn't allow me to pull out. As I manuevered the tub out I noticed there was a rubber line with a plastic stopper dangling in the ice clump. Now I have a rubber line (not sure if it's a water line) or not as it doesn't seem to be a flow line. Can't figure out where that should be plugged back in as the line is dangling in the way of where the tub slides back in. Any thoughts before I pull the unit off?

Mike, This tube that you are seeing is actually a thermistor that is hanging from the icemaker. It should go on the bottom of the icemaker and have a cover that holds it in place. If the cover is lost then the icemaker assembly would need to be replaced. Without the thermistor being attached, the icemaker will continue to cycle more rapidly and not freeze the water in the tray. This will cause the clumping.

Hello Jared. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Gary, If you didn't flush the new filter before you installed it, there could be residual charcoal powder in the filter which will appear in the cubes. If that's the case, the debris in the cubes should subside in a day or two. The other possibility is the ice maker mold has a build up of calcium, hard water, etc. which may need to be cleaned away, or the lining in the mold has started to deteriorate and is flaking off into the cubes. You'll need to remove the ice maker or use a mirror to inspect the mold, when it's empty.
