Larissa June 09, 2015 for Model Number FFHS2622MS3 Just replaced our water filer. Prior to that, we had't replaced it for about a year. During that period the water stopped dispensing although the ice machine continued to work. I assumed the water would begin to work again after the filter had been replaced but it still wont dispense. One of the water tubes looks yellowish. Too much buildup?
1 Answer Larissa, The tube would not have build up and is made to be a yellowish color. This just helps when hooking up the water lines to the water valve. The most likely cause for the unit not dispensing water would be a bad water valve. Read More...
Bradley May 24, 2015 for Model Number FPHB2899LF4 It seems like the water filter reset button resets by itself. We have to judge by the smell and taste of the water to know when to change it. The biggest issue is that it beeps every time it resets. It's driving me insane. Sometimes it will go for days without beeping and other times it will beep every few seconds or every few minutes. Sometimes it will beep hundreds of times a day. Please help it's driving me crazy.
1 Answer Bradley, With the water filter resetting itself, this would most likely be caused by a faulty membrane switch that has a stuck key. The part number for this would be 242166903. Read More...
Chris N April 27, 2015 for Model Number frigidaire fgun2642lf2 How do I flush the new filter if my refrigerator only has an ice maker. (no water dispenser).
1 Answer Chris, If your icemaker has a test button on it then you would push the test button and let the icemaker cycle. You will need to do this several times to flush the water line. Read More...
Ruth April 21, 2015 for Model Number Frigidaire Gallery Side by side fridge I replaced the water filter, emptied the two gallons of water, but the "order" light on the door is still on. I don't remember having to push any type of reset button before?
1 Answer Hello Ruth. Yes, there should be a button to reset the filter light that you will need to press and hold to reset it. This information should be in your owners manual. Thank you. Read More...
Dotson April 09, 2015 for Model Number FGHC2331PF6 Hello, I recently changed my water filter and now the water looks dirty. I discarded multiple cups of water on several occasions to try and correct the issue. However, the water looks exactly the same, dirty and un-drinkable.
1 Answer Hello Dotson, Some filters require flushing with at least two gallons of water and it is also possible to receive a filter with a factory defect. If you ordered the filter from us and flushing it further does no good, please call us with the model and serial number and if possible, the order number, at 1-877-477-7278 for a re-ship under the one year part warranty. Amy April 02, 2015 for Model Number FGHB2844LE7 We replaced the water filter (pure source Ultra), now no water will come out at all. It was easy to replace- nothing traumatic. Any suggestions on what could be wrong? The ice hasn't worked for a long time. We also have never changed the light bulb- and the current bulb has burnt two holes in the top of the fridge. What can be done?
1 Answer Amy, For the bulbs burning a hole in the top of the liner there is really nothing that can be done for that. As for the water filter being replaced and the water not working, you will want to make sure that the filter went in all the way. If it did then remove the kickplate at the bottom of the unit and disconnect the water tube. Push the water lever on the door and see if water comes from the tube under the unit. If not then the valve sounds like it would be the issue. If it does then the fill tube in the door is frozen and you will want to check to see how cold the freezer compartment is getting and adjust the temperature setting. Read More...
Mike January 24, 2015 for Model Number FGHB2844LF7 My ice maker "pure source ultra Ice" maker started to make a noise. As I pulled out the ice tub --- I noticed that there was a big chunk of ice in there that didn't allow me to pull out. As I manuevered the tub out I noticed there was a rubber line with a plastic stopper dangling in the ice clump. Now I have a rubber line (not sure if it's a water line) or not as it doesn't seem to be a flow line. Can't figure out where that should be plugged back in as the line is dangling in the way of where the tub slides back in. Any thoughts before I pull the unit off?
1 Answer Mike, This tube that you are seeing is actually a thermistor that is hanging from the icemaker. It should go on the bottom of the icemaker and have a cover that holds it in place. If the cover is lost then the icemaker assembly would need to be replaced. Without the thermistor being attached, the icemaker will continue to cycle more rapidly and not freeze the water in the tray. This will cause the clumping. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Jared. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Gary November 01, 2014 Our Frigidaire refrigerator has an ice maker but no water dispenser. The ice maker has started making ice that appears dirty. The ice has an ash-like film on the surface and through the ice. I changed the ULTRAWF filter 2 days ago, but I'm not sure if the dirty ice began then or if it was happening shortly before I changed the filter. What would cause this?
1 Answer Gary, If you didn't flush the new filter before you installed it, there could be residual charcoal powder in the filter which will appear in the cubes. If that's the case, the debris in the cubes should subside in a day or two. The other possibility is the ice maker mold has a build up of calcium, hard water, etc. which may need to be cleaned away, or the lining in the mold has started to deteriorate and is flaking off into the cubes. You'll need to remove the ice maker or use a mirror to inspect the mold, when it's empty. Read More...
Phyllis October 14, 2014 for Model Number AP4455158 How in the holy heck to I change this filter? I emptied two gallons of water out of the water faucet on the fridge and then immediately turned off the water to relieve the pressure on the filter.
