Questions & Answers

For Ge Burner, Bake (Part Number: OEM6064050)

Daniel M for Model Number 36273271691

The burner tube I purchased (WB16K22 (AP2021347)) will fit in the oven just fine...perfect match. BUT the mounting point for the igniter is shorter by about an inch and a half or more, so in order to put the igniter back in place on the burner tube I will have to flip the igniter...that is, with the open end of the igniter facing outward, but not facing the tube as it was originally, and as is demonstrated in your igniter installation video My question is simple...is it safe to do so, and will the this different orientation affect how the igniter and the tube work together. The igniter comes with two sets of mounting holes as you can see in the image here - http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-range-oven-igniter-wb13k21-ap2020569.html so it's definitely possible to mount the igniter to the new burner with the shorter mounting point. In examining it further, in fact, it is not possible to mount the igniter correctly. The mounting holes which would position the igniter correctly is angled so that I cannot replace the bolts which attach the igniter to the burner tube. Mounting using the angled side of the igniter does not allow enough room to tighten properly. Please let me know what you find. These parts are all supposed to match. I've chatted with APP support and they've confirmed the parts are supposed to match. I can provide images if that's helpful. Thank You.

Daniel, The igniter that you have if it is the flat style igniter, WB13K21, it will have 2 sides to the bracket in which you would be able to screw to the burner tube. The igniter opening must face the burner tube in order for the unit to ignite properly.

Yolanda, You will want to check to make sure that there is power going from the control board to the bake element. At the oven control check from bake to L1 with the oven turned on to bake and you should have 240 vac. If there is proper power then the clock is bad and if there is not proper power then the bake element is bad.
