  • Disconnect gas and power before servicing; ventilate the area if gas odor is present
  • Label and transfer the knob shaft orientation and any mounting hardware from the original
  • Check and reuse the correct orifice and inlet fittings from the old valve if required by your model
  • After installation, perform a leak check on all connections with approved leak-detection solution

Ernie, The right front burner valve for your unit is WB21K12. With having a gas smell with the unit off this would most likely be the valve that is causing the issue.

My question is which part is bad and should be replaced? The oven bake mode, intermittently won't light, but the broiler (& top burners) work normally. This happens every couple of weeks. The ignitor glows very brightly, but the bake burner doesn't light. If I heat the oven by running the broiler, the bake mode will then work and continue working & reigniting after cool down, although it appears to take some time to ignite after cool down. Please advise the part numbers I should order since I note that several numbers are listed for some items such as the gas valve. Many thanks!

Hello Pat. Based on the information you provided, the igniter is weak and will need to be replaced for the bake burner.

Hello Ryan, The front right replacement burner valve is part number WB21K12. In case the burner switch was damaged, that part number is WB24K10003. I'm sorry but the knob WB03K10051 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided.

On Sunday, as I was turning off the oven, the valve stem behind the oven knob on my stove became loose. We turned off the gas and electricity. The valve stem was very loose. Almost, we didn't do this, but we could of pushed the valve inside the front panel. This is the oven knob valve, not the four stove top burners valves. Repair person came and said we need a new thermostat? Is the thermostat located behind the panel where the loose valve is? Anyway, would like the part# of the oven burner valve and anything else that may need to be replaced. Thanks

1 Answer

Hello Mary, The control for the oven is a thermostat WB20K8. If the stem has come loose it will have to be replaced.
