RM, In general, You will need to dismount the microwave from the wall above the range. Remove the outer cabinet(wrapper) by removing the screws around the back wall of the cabinet and the side panels in (some cases). Once you slide the cabinet back and off the frame, you should see the cavity light and socket attached to the cavity or air tunnel. A proper model number would be a great help, Thanks and Good Luck

Hello. The outer cover is the metal wrap around the microwave. You will need to remove all the screws and the wrap around the microwave to access and replace the cavity lamp WB36X10131. Hope this helps.
