David Jones January 24, 2021 for Model Number GTW460ASJ7WW I have a GE GTW460ASJ7WW top load washer which has become loud during the spin cycles. If I spin an empty tub, I hear the typically bearing sound. Not yet loose marbles, but a scraping metal sound. It appears this model does not have a separate tub bearing? Is everything contained in the transmission? I see some DIY help that replaces the tub bearing for these types of issue but do not see that as a part in the diagram. Want to make sure I order the right part for the right issue. Also, any other parts I should replace while the washer is torn down? Belt?
1 Answer David, As far as any other parts, the belt would not be a bad thing to replace but not much of anything else. The transmission would be the correct part to replace for this issue. Read More...
Anthony Stansbury November 30, 2020 for Model Number GTW330ASK3WW I have a clutch part #wh05x24185...when taking the washer apart. I get the belt off and take the nut off but the drive pulley will not come off to save my life. Do you have any tips to get that off? I watched a video and it looks like it should just slide off. Tha ks.
1 Answer Anthony, The drive pulley should just slide off when you get the nut off but if it is stuck try to spray some PB blaster on it and let it sit for about 20 minutes then try to get it off. Read More...
