The Complete GE Pump and Motor Assembly is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. This assembly is integral to the dishwasher’s functionality, as it combines both the pump and motor components that work together to circulate water during the wash and rinse cycles. The pump forces water through the spray arms, while the motor drives this process, ensuring thorough cleaning of the dishes.

Over time, the pump and motor assembly can wear out due to constant use and exposure to water and detergents. Additionally, debris or hard water buildup can clog the pump, causing strain on the motor and leading to failures. Electrical issues or damage from power surges can also impair the assembly's performance.

Symptoms of a bad pump and motor assembly include:

  • The dishwasher not cleaning dishes properly
  • Water not circulating or spraying during cycles
  • Unusual noises, such as grinding or humming, coming from the dishwasher
  • Water not draining properly from the tub
  • The dishwasher not starting or completing cycles

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Ash for Model Number GSD2200G00BB

Problems started a few months ago when turning on the unit would just result in a humming noise. Dismantled and cleaned up motor and pump as well as I could... worked again. Intermittently would have to reach under and spin the motor shaft before it would start (solenoid problem?). This morning the unit starts up but there is very low flow coming out of the sprayers and all the water going in seems to be going right back out. Would replacing the motor/pump assembly fix this?

Hello Ash. Based on your description it does sound like your motor and pump are failing. Replacing these should fix your issue. I hope this info helps.

Hello Shirley! You may want to remove the drain hose and check for clogs. If it is clear and there is still a leak on the motor/pump assembly, you would need to replace it. Thanks for choosing us!

Dave for Model Number GSD3620F00BB

My dishwasher does not seem to properly drain out completely before the water valve opens. I studied this forum, then I 1) opened the washer's sump and checked for debris - found none 2) replaced the drain hose from the drain check valve in the kitchen sink to the dispose-all - water runs free 3) opened the bottom panel and watched the operation and checked off the drain valve circuit closure per the maintenance sheet I found attached under the unit 4) found that the drain solenoid functioned when the circuit closed during operation, BUT!!!...when the circuit opened, the drain valve was still forced in the DRAIN position by the pump pushing water out the drain....I assume the valve closes when the pressure drops upon the sump draining dry...but it never does! (to check this, I simply opened the door to stop the pump, and the drain valve closed back to the normal (pump flow to the washer) position). 5) The timer then moves on and opens the water valve and on to the next cycle it goes. OK, what do I do next? Purge (somehow) the drain line to the sink? What is causing that valve to stay stuck in the drain-out position once the solenoid de-activates? Is the pump too weak to get the water out "in the time allotted" or is there an obstruction keeping the pressure in the drain-out path too high for the springs to pull the valve shut? (I could not close that valve by hand until I opened the door and stopped the pump, then it shut on its own) Just to reiterate, the solenoid is working per the schematic - but the valve won't close with the pump running. I can move the valve freely by hand when the dishwasher is off. thanks Dave

Hello Larry. Yes, it can leak under the motor. You will need to remove the toe panel and look to see where it is leaking from. Then you should be able to determine which part you will need. Hope this helps.

Hello Marian! You will need check to make sure that the unit is being properly filled. Let the unit fill and open the door. The water should be touching the bottom of the heating element. If it is not, you will have a filling issue and will need to check the valve. If all is ok, then there would be another issue with the product. Test this and post your results. Thanks.

Hello Mike. You will need to remove the spray arms and tubes and make sure they are not clogged. Also, gain access to the impeller assembly and make sure it is not clogged. Be sure the water level is correct inside the tub. If it is low, you may need a new water valve. Hope this helps.

Helix for Model Number gsd2200G02ww

Our dishwasher stopped starting - it would just hum when we turned it on, and there was about 2" of water in the bottom of it that wouldn't drain. I took the motor assembly apart and took the motor off and the motor itself turned freely. I hooked it back up, and then it seemed like the it was working - the motor would turn on for a second at least. However, it seems like it would start for a second and then stop. Then i had the bright idea that i might of hooked the solenoid up back words, so i switched the wires. Then the solenoid started to smoke a bit, so maybe i had it right in the first place. Anyway, any ideas? I was thinking about replacing the solenoid, but maybe something else is wrong as well? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Helix. It sounds like you will need the motor assembly. The windings may be bad in the motor. Hope this helps.
