Symptoms of a bad Defrost Control Board include:

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Hello Al. If the unit is sticking in the defrost cycle, it could be the board. If it is not sticking in the defrost cycle, it could be the cold control WR09X20002. You will need to check and see which part is bad.

Stanley for Model Number GTH18HB B3RWW

This fridge is about two years old. Recently when it defrosts the melted condensate has been overflowing out of the collection pan and puddling on the floor. It seems that there is too much condensate for the pan to hold. I do live in a very humid coastal area so I've checked for leaking seals that could cause excessive ice build up; the seals are all seal okay. Can it be that the defrost timer is not cycling enough times per day thus allowing too much ice build up before a defrost cycle occurs? What else might be the cause? Thanks for your help.

Hello Stanley. Check and see if the condenser fan motor WR60X10348 is not working properly on the unit. If not, the water will not evaporate properly.

Hello Fred. The unit does not have a defrost timer, the defrost cycle is controlled by the main board located on the rear of the unit. The part number for that board is WR55X10942C. Thanks!

Hello Eddie, The only way to "reset" the module is to unplug the refrigerator for two minutes. This will take the unit out of defrost if it is in defrost, but you cannot force a defrost. If this module is good, the defrost thermostat WR50X10073 is most likely the issue. You should also check the defrost heater WR51X10038 since it is a glass tube type.
