David March 15, 2019 for Model Number GTH16BBXYRWW My freezer is not getting cold enough without turning up the temperature control for my refrigerator.
1 Answer David, you may want to test the temperature control [WR09X20002], when the temperature control is set to 5 and the freezer damper is on the warmer setting, the temperatures should read 34.6 degrees in the refrigerator and 13.4 degrees in the freezer. As the freezer damper is set to the colder positions, this will influence how much cold air from the freezer gets to the refrigerator. Read More...
Stan November 10, 2017 for Model Number GE gth18ebtzrww My fridge is running fine but sometimes if would just stop running and it will not turn back on. Even when I move the temperature control, it doesn't make the click sound and does not turn on. Sometimes it does, but sometimes it doesn't and I have to unplug it from power source and plug it back in after 2 min and it turns on just fine. The problem is that when I'm not home, all my food could go bad. I changed temperature control, compressor starter and the capacitor for it. I'm thinking about changing the defrost thermostats for the freezer but I'm really lost here. It's very clean, never freezes inside, just sometimes it would not turn back on when it's wormer. Any clues?
1 Answer Stan, For this issue the most likely cause will be a faulty defrost control board WR55X21623. Read More...

Michael September 14, 2016 for Model Number GTH18EBT3RWW How do I get the control panel to drop down far enough for me to replace the defrost timer board? It comes loose in the front but will not lower or come loose in the rear. Thank You!!
1 Answer Michael, There would normally be a screw at the front, which you have already removed and then look in the area of the light for a second screw that would be in this area that you would need to remove as well. This should allow the control panel to lower to replace the defrost board. Read More...
