Chuck August 28, 2012 for Model Number wbvh6240f0ww How do tell if a shock is bad and should you replace all 4 of them.
1 Answer Hello Chuck, I have never replaced a shock damper that didn't show an obvious sign of damage. When one gets replaced, you do have to replace the others if the unit is over about a year old to prevent a major difference and causing the unit to spin unevenly and giving a fault code. If the unit isn't old, or not used often, you can get away with replacing just one. Read More...
Vicki June 13, 2012 for Model Number wcvh6260fgg Ok...the top of the damper?? Is that the one attached to the tub or to the base? If it is the one on the base it has a white attachment that I have attempted to pull....How do I remove that pin?..thanks again for the assistance
1 Answer Hello Vicki. If you look at the white pin, you will see a tab that you will have to press down and slide the pin out of the shock and tub as you hold the tab in the down position to remove. It is on the pointed end of the pin. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Vicki. Once the pin is removed from the top of the shock WH01X10343, you will twist the bottom part of the shock to remove it from the unit. Read More...
Lil Bob May 29, 2012 for Model Number wbvh6240f My machine is about 2 years old and it is very loud especially in final spin mode. Do you think the shock absorbers are the culpret?
1 Answer Hello Lil Bob. No, if the noise is loud like a roaring sound, you will need to replace the rear outer tub assembly WH45X10071 on the unit. The bearings are bad in the unit. Read More...
Dave March 31, 2012 for Model Number GE washer WCVH6260FWW I have 2 questions: 1. The model number written on my washer is not exactly the same as the "match" on any web sites (mine=WCVH6260FWW; match=WCVH6260F0WW). Are they really the same? 2. The WH01X10343 shocks seem shorter than those in my machine and seem much more loose. I haven't taken the originals out yet, but I can barely compress them by pushing on the tub. The shocks I just got move freely for part of the travel. The diagram says AP4265856. Is WH01X10343 really a match?
1 Answer Dave, You are on the right track, Yes, the WCVH6260FWW and The WCVH6260FOWW are the same machine. As for the dampers, once again you're correct, The original damper WH01X10260 has been substituted by the manufacturer to WH01X10343 WH01X10343, Like any revised part, it make look and feel different, but it will work in your machine. We acquire our parts from the manufacturer, so yes, they are the same part as the original or substitute part produced by the manufacturer. You'll be fine using the parts you have orderred. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
