Jj October 27, 2014 for Model Number WCVH6800J1MR My upright washers tub is very wobbly. should all four dampters be replaced at the same time??
1 Answer JJ, The model number you supplied [WCVH6800J1MR] is a "front load" washer. You may want to start with all four of the dampers WH01X10425 and check the two suspension springs WH05X10009 and cabinet that hold the tub up from the top. Of course you want to check and make sure the washer is level and on a good solid floor, first. It's also possible to have a worn tub bearing or spin basket shaft that has worn to the point where the inner basket could "wobble". But do the basic checks or repairs to the suspension system first. Thanh T. September 29, 2014 for Model Number wchv6800joms The washer is making a lot of noise during the final spin. I checked the shocks and one was cracked so I replaced that. No change. Still a lot noise (not banging), like it is not balanced. I emptied the pump's button catch. No change in noise. When the spin is set on Medium, not high, there is little to no noise. What is wrong w/ this washer? Thanks in advance for your help.
1 Answer Hello Thanh, If your model number is actually WCVH6800J0MS, you should check the weights on the outside of the outer tub. If any of them are loose they will make a racket. Also check the support springs and make sure they are in the rearmost slots in the cabinet openings. If these are good you should run a spin only cycle to heat up the bearings and when it stops, open the door and turn the spin basket, feeling for any roughness or opposition to rotation. If this is good also, reach inside and lift the front of the spin basket, feeling for slack between the spin basket and the outer tub assembly. Turn the spin basket 1/3 of a turn and so this again. Now turn it another 1/3 of a turn and do the same once more. If you feel a "clunk" in any position, it indicates that the spinner support assembly WH45X10142 has an issue. Read More...
Dale August 04, 2014 for Model Number WCVH6260FWW (front load) Washer tub has at least 1/2" of up/down/sideways play. White plastic ring behind the bellow seal is worn down and flakeing off. Lot of thump, thump on high speed spin cycle. Rear shocks look ok. Weights, front shocks??? List of parts needed. Thanks.
1 Answer Dale, If the inner tub is moving up/down and side to side independently of the outer tub then the issue would most likely be caused by a broken tub support. The parts that would be needed to replaced if this is the case would be the spin basket WH45X10142 and the front outer tub WH45X10101. Read More...
Jennifer May 26, 2014 for Model Number WHDVH660HBB We just replaced the drive belt on our front load washing machine. During the spin cycle there is a lot of noise. We have checked for noise from the bearings and we here nothing. How do you know if the support shocks are bad. We do notice that we can rock the drum EASILY from side to side. The machine is 6 years old.
1 Answer Jennifer, If the noise is a grinding noise during the spin cycle then the bearings would be the issue. When the unit gets to higher speeds to causes the noise but would not be heard during gradual rotation. The faster it spins the more noise there will be. If that is not the case then the issue would most likely be shocks that are bad. Read More...
Cecilia March 16, 2014 for Model Number WCVH6260FGG All I need is the plastic bolt to hold down the shock absorber. I have no idea what happened to it. I believe the actual absorber is fine. Do I need to purchase the entire kit just to get the plastic bolt?
Steve November 22, 2013 for Model Number Model# WCVH6400J0WW Part# WH01X10343 Please give me an example of "obvious wear" on a front load shock absorber. What does wear look like? can there be any play in the travel? should the travel be stiff immediately or play and then stiff?
1 Answer Hello Steve. There should not be a lot of movement back and forth. It should be snug and travel freely up and down. Read More...

Ginger M May 30, 2013 for Model Number WBVH6240 My washer started making a loud knocking noise when trying to spin out the other day. It seemed like the basin was hitting the door or something. I managed to do a few more loads but after the last one my laundry room was full of smoke! Smelled like burnt rubber. Husband has checked it all out - belt is still good, shocks are good so he thinks its a bad bearing??? It looks like it mess up the seal and the white plastic part of the tub was rubbed but maybe that's not such a big deal.
1 Answer Hello Ginger. You will need the outer tub, bellow seal, and front tub assembly to repair the unit. Read More...
David G. February 08, 2013 for Model Number GE wvch6800joms Hi On very high spin cycle the washer is making loud noises and there is smoke in the washer basin. Can you help?
1 Answer David, The closest model number we could find, to the number you supplied is WCVH6800J0MS, this should be a GE front load washer, and based on your post description you most likely have a worn out tub bearing assembly, and will need to replace the rear tub assemblyWH45X10071. Read More...
