Dennis February 05, 2023 for Model Number FRS26ZGGW4 the thermostat you show has red and black wiring with plug ins. my refgigarator has a thermostat with pink and orange wires just taped on to the heating coil is the orange and to a white wire is the pink, that goes to the power box. so which way I connect your thermostat??????
1 Answer Dennis, If your thermostat is hardwired in then just cut the connectors off the new thermostat and splice it in. It does not matter which wire is connected to which since it is just a switch that allows power to run through it when closed. Read More...
Kenneth August 13, 2021 for Model Number CTX18ELSRWH Dear Customer Support, My refrigerator is not getting cold lately. The freezer (22 °F) and the fridge (56 °F). I have replaced the Defrost Timer and that did not solve the problem. Current Diagnostic Summary I have checked the Evaporator Fan and Condenser Fan both are working properly. I have checked the Defrost Heater and it does show continuity and was glowing red but only runs for about 3 minutes then it stops. During the 3 minutes cycle, it did not completely melt all the ice built-up on the coil. However, I am not sure if this is normal or it's suppose to melt all the ice on the coil before the compressor starts again? What is the normal run time for the Defrost Heater? At this point, I am suspecting the Defrost Thermostat is partially failing. I am hesitating to cut the wires to test for continuity because the original wire is very short and it would be difficult to attach the wire back to the thermostat. Based on my description, which component is preventing the refrigerator to get cold? Thank you! Kenneth
1 Answer Kenneth, Thanks for the question!!! I would go ahead and replace that defrost thermostat. The heater should run for at least 20 minutes. Read More...

Anonymous April 16, 2014 for Model Number CTX21EPJRWH The thermostat in video is Whirlpool with clip attached to bottom. The WR50X60 has no clip and is GE/Hotpoint. I need one with clip because there is no way to attach the WR50X60 for my model # it is for. The metal pieces that come in Thermo Kit WR50X60 do not fit together or attach to anything in my freezer coil area. They both have holes in them to attach to something but there is nothing in there to attach them to. I need thermostat with a clip because the one I took out that a repairman installed years ago has a clip to hold it to coil. Which thermostat with clip can I use? Please reply.
1 Answer Anonymous, The 2 clips that come with the part, one has 2 holes for screws which is not the one needed for your unit. The second clip has one hole in which the top of the thermostat goes into. Once the thermostat is in the hole, the thermostat will clip to the evaporator coil. Unfortunately we do not know which thermostat that your previous servicer replaced on the unit and would not be able to advise on a thermostat that is rated for your unit that would have the wrap around clips. James August 30, 2013 for Model Number TFH27PRSMWW The appliance repair house gave me a WR50X60 to use in on the refrigerator. The model calls for a WR50X122. Will it work correctly? The temperature of operation look to be the same. Also, the bottom heater element has a dark spot in the center. What is the easiest way to check to see if it has a short?
1 Answer James, The defrost thermostat WR50X60 has a different bracket assembly to attach to the coil and does not appear that it would work for your unit. You would need the WR50X122 defrost thermostat. To check the heater you would pull the heater and do a continuity test to see if it is good. If no continuity then the heater is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
