Dana H. August 31, 2015 for Model Number Part #HP2047302 I just purchased this for my new washer. My question is, in the video, you do not show the tube container inside the fabric softener dispeser. Is this to stay in the dispenser? I left it in, and none of the fabric softener went out. So, what happens if I take it out? Seems to me the fabric softener would leak through into the wash cycle?
1 Answer Hello Dana, The fabric softener stays in the dispenser cup until the unit goes into the high speed spin. This uses centrifugal force to spin the softener out of the inner cup into the outer part of the dispenser. It then runs down and goes into the wash through the agitator holes. A note on the use of softener: Diluting the softener with hot water before putting it into the dispenser will prevent the heavy build-up related to softener usage and aids in a more even dispense and is recommended by the manufacturer.
