Questions & Answers

For Ge Drive Belt (Part Number: OEM11652393)

1 Answer

Pete, The way to get the belt on is to put it on the motor pulley first. Once you have it on the motor pulley then you will start it around the tub pulley and making sure that you hold it, spin the tub pulley away from where the belt is on the pulley as to turn it on and it will go on but you have to hold it as you do this.

Hello De. It should be tight. If loose, the bearings may be bad and need to be replaced on the unit.

Doug for Model Number GE wcvh6260 fww

About half of the time my clothes are still very wet after washing. It's not the filter at the bottom because I've checked and cleaned it many times throughout while having this problem. I've checked the drain hose, it was clear. I never smelled smoke like from the drive belt slipping but that's what I'm suspecting. There's not actually water sitting in the bottom of the washer, just most of the time clothes or towels are so wet you can wring water out of them. Don't think its the pump because there's no water at bottom of basket- clothes are just soaked and not stuck to sides of drum like they should be as when it works right. What do you think? THANK YOU

Hello Doug, Even though there is not water sitting in bottom of unit you will still want to make sure that there is no clogging of the drain pump and make sure that the vanes on the drain pump are not broken. Also check the drain that connect to the bottom of the tub for clogging. A slow drain will not allow the unit to spin at proper speeds.

John, "Remove the 4 Phillips-head screws from the cabinet rear cover. Pull the cover outward from the middle. Remove the belt by turning the tub drive pulley and rolling the belt off the pulley. Note: The belt is elastic and is designed to be removed and installed in this manner." The belt will seem to be "too small" but it is not. You'll want to align and hold the belt on the motor drive pulley, and install the belt on the drum pulley from bottom left, "walk" it onto the pulley as far as possible, then slowly turn the drum pulley clockwise. It make take a couple of tries to get it on the pulley, then once on, turn the drum pulley several revolutions so the belt aligns properly on the pulley. Be careful when "rolling" the belt on the pulley, don't let your fingers get "pinched" between the belt and pulley.

Hello Keith. WH08X10024 is the correct belt. There is no way to adjust the tension and these are suppose to be very tight. Place the belt onto the motor pulley and roll the belt onto the large pulley.

Hello Susan, To replace drive belt you first put belt onto the motor. Once on the motor you will then wrap it around the pulley. While holding the belt to make sure that it does not fall off pull you want to turn the pulley. The belt should slide onto the pulley.
