Ron Norton October 14, 2018 for Model Number WCVH6600HBB GE front loader washer, 2007 model. Smoked the drive belt so I replaced it. Now on the second load of clothes it is spinning very rough and started smoking again, smells rubbery. What else should I check? Thanks
1 Answer Rod, check for movemant of the drive motor and the basket, both should turn freely with no wobble or binding. If both turn ok , you may want to consider replacing the motor. Read More...
Pam May 15, 2017 for Model Number GE WBVH5200J3WW My GE front load machine is about 9 yrs. old. During the spinning cycle it started making a loud knocking noise went in to check on it and the laundry room was full of smoke. I turned off the washer and unplugged it. When I opened the door smoke came from inside the washer also had some rubber inside of it. Any idea what it could be??
1 Answer Pam, Based on the symptoms the issue will most likely be a broken spider on the inner drum that is allowing the banging noise and the front inner tub will rub on the outer tub causing the rubbery plastic inside the drum. For this issue you would need the basket assembly WH45X10142 and then check the front of the tub to make sure that the tub is not worn through where it could cause leaking. Read More...
Ben February 08, 2016 for Model Number WHDVH626F0WW I has a drive belt Broken about 3 months ago, I Order a belt and replaced it. Now a belt it warn out and came lose, the belt is no longer good any more because the teeth of belt is gone. Now do I need to replace a drive belt pulley too or just replace a belt, I am not sure is a pulley is still good. How do I know?
1 Answer Hello Ben. You will need to check the pulley and see if it is loose. If so, then you will need to replace the pulley and the belt on the unit. If it does not feel loose, then the bearings may be bad and the tub need to be replaced. Read More...

Jim B October 08, 2014 for Model Number WBVH6240FWW Our GE Front Loading washer has begun to make a noise when on the spin cycle. It almost sounds like it is out of balance. If you tip the unit forward, it gets louder. If you tip the unit back, the noise and vibration goes away. Trying to determine what the cause may be so I can order the correct part. Thanks guys, you are always helpful!
1 Answer Jim, It's most likely that the drum bearings are worn and causing the spin basket to "wobble" and hit the outer tub assembly. You'll need to check and replace the rear tub assembly WH45X10071 in order to get the bearings and seal. Read More...

Annette May 15, 2014 Drive belt is not fitting on pulley it is to small and it will not fit on the motor pulley. HELP!!!
1 Answer Hello Annette. Replacement belts on all front load washers appear to be too small and can be a bit difficult to install, but this is "Normal". "Per Factory Measures 48.4" At Rest & 51.2" When Working". As you can see there is some "stretch" in the belt when the washer is operating. The way to get the belt on is to put it on the motor pulley first. Once you have it on the motor pulley then you will start it around the tub pulley and making sure that you hold it, spin the tub pulley away from where the belt is on the pulley as to turn it on and it will go on but you have to hold it as you do this.
