Pam, Based on the symptoms the issue will most likely be a broken spider on the inner drum that is allowing the banging noise and the front inner tub will rub on the outer tub causing the rubbery plastic inside the drum. For this issue you would need the basket assembly WH45X10142 and then check the front of the tub to make sure that the tub is not worn through where it could cause leaking.

Hello Ben. You will need to check the pulley and see if it is loose. If so, then you will need to replace the pulley and the belt on the unit. If it does not feel loose, then the bearings may be bad and the tub need to be replaced.

Hello Annette. Replacement belts on all front load washers appear to be too small and can be a bit difficult to install, but this is "Normal". "Per Factory Measures 48.4" At Rest & 51.2" When Working". As you can see there is some "stretch" in the belt when the washer is operating. The way to get the belt on is to put it on the motor pulley first. Once you have it on the motor pulley then you will start it around the tub pulley and making sure that you hold it, spin the tub pulley away from where the belt is on the pulley as to turn it on and it will go on but you have to hold it as you do this.
