Butch, In some cases when this issue occurs it is caused by clumping of the ice, especially under the auger. You will want to check to make sure that there is no ice clumping under the auger, and also if the drive cup is cracked you will want to replace the drive cup.

Hello Marilee. The drive cup and blades should not be real tight, but also not real loose. You need to check and make sure all the spacers are in place on the unit.

Hello Joe, This is not difficult. You may want to take pictures with your cell phone along the way to refer back to during the re-assembly. You have to take the dispense end apart to slide the entire auger forward so the drive cup can be changed. The cup is not permanently attached to the auger. The auger just fits into the cup.
