Thomas November 06, 2017 for Model Number jt910wa1ww The convection fan works occasionally. When watching it you can see that it wants to turn but doesn't. It is a built in model. Does the oven need to be pulled out of the wall to get at the fan motor or am I missing some easy disassembly function. Thank you
1 Answer Thomas, Yes, you will need to remove the oven from the wall opening " To service fan: Note: Convection fan blade nut has left-handed threads. Fan blade can be replaced from inside oven. Oven must be removed from installation to access convection fan motor." Good Luck, Read More...
Paul G October 26, 2016 for Model Number JTP18W0A1WW The convection doesn't work on my GE built-in oven. I'm trying to diagnose it. Is there a self-test mode I can put it in? Or a way to retrieve codes? I don't see the fan spin, but not sure if it's a fan issue or control board.
1 Answer Paul, There is no diagnostic to pull the codes and if there was a code it would show on the display. As for what to check, Test power to the fan motor which should have 120 vac to it. If there is not 120 vac to it then the control board will be the issue. If there is 120 vac to it then the fan motor is faulty and would need replaced. Read More...
Don Miller April 27, 2016 for Model Number JTP18W0A1WW We got a replacement convection fan for our oven. Your part #WB26K5069. There is what looks like a shiny plastic tape on what I believe are electrical coils. The old one has a different wrap here that looks like more of a mesh fiber fabric. Do I need to remove the plastic tape or is this something that takes the place of the old type of wrap.
1 Answer Don, You would leave that coating on the motor. The old style motors had the fiberglass type of wrap and they changed this in the manufacturing of the part and would leave that on. Read More...
Steve January 04, 2015 for Model Number Jkp55w02ww My ge double oven smells like hot electrical and the convection fan doesn't shut off when I open the door while cooking on convection bake. Is the fan motor going bad or something else
1 Answer Steve, The model number that you have listed is not coming up as a valid model. We would need to have the correct model number to be able to properly assist. With the fan being operational it does not sound like the fan would be the issue. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
