Garland April 30, 2023 for Model Number ZFSB23DRDSS When I replaced the water filter, I failed to insert it correctly and now, even after reinstalling it correctly by lining up the arrows, water runs onto the floor under the refrigerator when I try the water dispenser in the door and the ice maker is not making ice. Is there anything I can do short of replacing the filter housing?
1 Answer Garland, It would be recommended to pull the refrigerator out and check the tubing that is behind the unit and see if there is a broken or damaged tube and repair if there is. Read More...
Jes October 18, 2020 for Model Number GE profile PFCS1RKZH SS A loud vibrating noise, like a jackhammer, happens whenever the water dispenser is engaged. This started randomly, not when I changed the water filter. I tried replacing the water filter with a new one and the noise did not stop. I also tried replacing the filter with the filter bypass plug, and the sound still happens when the water dispenser is engaged. What part needs replacing? The water inlet valve? The water filter housing assembly? The filter head? Something else? Other than the noise, the water dispenser and ice maker seem to be working fine and I have no leaks.
1 Answer Hello Jes, the water filter housing needs to be replaced, it is part WR17X11894. Read More...
Carol April 12, 2017 for Model Number He pfsf5rkzww I am having trouble with water dripping out of the water dispenser in the door. Also, the ice maker has not been working very well. Bought and replaced the ice maker and am still having water leak out of the door dispenser, at a rapid rate. Suggestions?
1 Answer Carol, This issue would most likely be caused by a water valve that is seeping causing the water to drip at the dispenser door. Read More...
Heeb January 07, 2017 for Model Number PSC25NGSA Seems that the water pressure to the dispenser has decreased. The ice maker isn't filling anymore either. Suspected that a new filter was needed, but when it was changed, the problem seemed to get worse. There seems to be plenty of pressure from the main line. I've changed the inlet valve, but this made no difference. After I found the filter bypass plug and installed it, there was no difference in the water pressure, but when I pushed the plug toward the rear panel of the fridge or pulled it slightly toward me the pressure to the dispenser increased significantly. We've got pretty hard city water. How could the water filter housing be affecting the water pressure?
1 Answer Heeb, For this issue you would want to replace the water filter housing assembly which would cause both the ice and water to not work. The way that it can affect water pressure by the pins for the water to pass through being worn or faulty. Read More...
Waleed June 04, 2016 for Model Number PFSS6PKXFSS After I had replaced the water filter, there was a loud vibrating sound and the water had very little to no flow. This is the first time anything like this has happened
1 Answer Waleed, When you replace the water filter, you need to be careful when you insert it into the filter head assembly. You can dislodge the diverter valve inside the assembly and this will cause a vibration type noise, and a reduction or elimination of the water flow. You can try to replace the filter, again but you will probably need to replace the water filter head assembly WR17X12512, in order to solve the problem. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks, Read More...
Jeffrey October 12, 2015 I went to replace my water filter and when I removed it, water was spraying out. After changing the filter it is leaking pretty good (filling up a small bowl in an hour or less). I put the bypass plug in and it is still spraying out. Would replacing the part #792 in the breakdown fix this issue?
1 Answer Hello Jeffrey, You will need to replace the filter head. I'm sorry but we cannot recommend a part number that we know will work for your unit without the model number from your units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
