The Water Filter Manifold is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. Its primary function is to channel and distribute water from the external water supply to the refrigerator's water dispenser and ice maker. This manifold serves as a connection point for the water filter, ensuring that water is properly filtered before reaching the dispenser and ice maker.

Causes of a bad filter manifold can include wear and tear from repeated filter changes, cracks or breaks due to impact, or leaks from deteriorated seals.

Symptoms of a bad filter manifold include:

  • Leaks around the water filter area
  • Reduced water flow or pressure
  • The water filter not fitting securely
  • Unusual tastes or odors in the filtered water

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Ray, With the valve working and having a new filter and neither the ice or water working then this would most likely be a faulty water filter head WR02X13684.

John, The "john guess" couplers/ fittings are reusable. To release the water supply tube, use a 3/8" open end wrench, press down/in on the collar that surrounds the water tube and pull out on the tube. To install the water tube, make sure the end of the tube is cut straight, there are no burrs, shavings or debris. Press in/down on the collar, insert the water tube as far as possible and release the collar, put a slight/light tug on the water tube to make sure the lock mechanism seats and seals. Then check for operation and leaks.

John for Model Number GFE27GSDESS

GE refrigerator model #gfe27gsdess. The water is dispensing very slowly from the door and the ice cubes appear to be much smaller but it is still making ice. This started happening all of a sudden with no reason. I changed out the filter with no change. I changed the main water inlet valve located at the back rear of the appliance with no change. Any idea what I should try? Could it be the dual valve located in the door? I tested both and they both have a resistance of about 375 ohms. Thanks for the response

John, We wouldn't expect the dual valve to be the issue at this point, and based on your post description. But, we would suspect the water tank froze or the WR02X13684 / WR02X13684 FILTER MANIFOLD has an internal mechanical problem and isn't allowing the water to flow properly.
