The Gasket Door Assembly is an OEM replacement part for GE ovens. This gasket provides a seal around the oven door, ensuring that heat is retained inside the oven for efficient cooking and baking. It helps to maintain the correct temperature and prevents heat from escaping, which can affect cooking performance and energy efficiency.

Causes of a bad gasket door assembly can include regular wear and tear, exposure to high temperatures, and physical damage such as cuts or tears. Over time, the gasket can lose its elasticity and sealing capability.

Symptoms of a bad Gasket Door Assembly include:

  • Heat escaping from the oven door
  • The oven taking longer to preheat or maintain temperature
  • Uneven cooking or baking results
  • Visible damage or gaps in the gasket

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Tammy, you can use needle nose pliers to try to clip as close as you can on the clip/door to release the clips. If they break, its ok the new gasket WB35X29720 includes the clips. To install you'll press the clips into the holes on the oven door. Thanks.

Beth for Model Number 1954 Roper 30 inch gas oven

I know that the part # AP2615667 was the replacement part for the oven gasket (88037) but it is no longer available. Question: Can I use either AP4090594 or AP2635033 as a replacement? I think the clips might be in the same places as the screw holes of my model's seal retainer. It would be worth a try if the gaskets are long enough. Could you please specify the length of each of these gaskets? That information is not on your data entry. Thanks. (and don't tell me to get a new oven - my serviceman said "I'd ten times rather work on one of these than a stove five years old.") Note, the stove has been serviced once and that was in 2008, and yes, we use it every day!
