Jim T December 05, 2013 for Model Number ZGU384NS2SS How can I test the switch harness to see if it is okay?
1 Answer Hello Jim. When turned on, each switch should close for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim T December 05, 2013 for Model Number ZGU384NS2SS My GE Gas Cooktop stopped lighting after boiling over a pot of water. I called in a repair guy and he cleaned out the burner and it will light when using a match or BBQ lighter. He was suppose to call me back with a price to fix it but he never called back. It no longer clicks. The ignitors are not sparking (for any of the burners -- not just the one that overboiled). My initial thought was that I blew a fuse in it or something, but after watching a couple of youtube videos, it seems that the most likely problem is a damaged switch harness. But, I think it could also be the spark modulator. Is there a way to determine exactly what it was?
1 Answer Hello Jim. If none of the burners are sparking, and the spark switches are good, you will need to replace the spark module WB13T10078 on the unit. Read More...
