Angela January 07, 2021 for Model Number PVM9179DF1CC Installing now. THe instructions for rear ventilation (Section C) omit the damper/adapter, but I figured that out. I have not hoisted the oven up there yet, but the damper adapter will connect to an outside vent cap that also has a damper flap. This outside damper is a bit heavier that the one that comes with the oven. Will it be OK to have two dampers? I am worried about back pressure.
1 Answer Angela, as long as the exterior vent cap damper can open freely without excessive resistance, it should not affect the venting capability. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Gay, All you should have to do is drop the microwave and remove the fan assembly. Turn it so it is facing the correct position to line up with the ducting in your home and reinstall the microwave. The hood vent assembly should be in place on the unit as installed. Read More...

Jeffrey H. March 22, 2017 for Model Number PVM1870 I have a microwave that was vented outside and now I want it to recirculate. Do I need to close the opening install a charcoal filter and what part numbers are these?
1 Answer Hello Jeffrey, You will need to lower the unit, remove the screws holding the metal bracket WB06X10714 in place, remove the single screw holding the motor assembly in position. Pull the motor up out of the microwave and turn it so the fan exhaust points towards the front of the unit and put the retaining screw back in place. This unit does not show a charcoal filter in the parts list so it is not an option. Read More...
