Joe May 19, 2016 Dishwasher fills with water when it is not running. Water seems to be backing up through the drain hose. I do not have a clogged drain. I suspect a defective check valve flapper. Can you advise? Dishwasher is a GE Profile installed new in 2009.

Jeff January 27, 2014 for Model Number pdw8200j1088 The water is not drianing from the bottom but its not leaking. The dishes are coming out clean. Not sure if it the pump or drain is is backed up.
1 Answer Jeff, You will want to check the drain pump to ensure that it is not clogged up and make sure that the flapper that is on the drain pump is not damage and is opening and closing back. If not then this would be the issue and would require a new drain pump. Read More...
Anthony February 28, 2013 for Model Number GE PDW8600N00WW How do you change the inlet sump? Is it as easy as just removing all of the clamps and pulling the sump off from the bottom or do you need to access it from above within the dishwasher? Thanks.
1 Answer Anthony, The sump is removed from the bottom by removing the clamps and pulling the part off. Read More...
Wipedaler May 16, 2012 for Model Number PDW8480J10SS After removing the filter sump, it appeared as if (1) a portion of the inner structure (that leads to the left in the main view of this part) had deteriorated, and (2) that the inside was caked with chalky white material. The white material seemed to flake off in small pieces. Would that material clog the nozzles, or is it drained away? Is it common to have to replace this sump after ~7 years of use? How big of a job is it to replace this part? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Wipedaler. It depends on how much is inside the sump if it will clog it. Usually this happens from using to much soap in the dishwasher. If you can not clean it out, you will need to replace the sump assembly WD18X10026. Read More...
