This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Jeff, You will want to check the drain pump to ensure that it is not clogged up and make sure that the flapper that is on the drain pump is not damage and is opening and closing back. If not then this would be the issue and would require a new drain pump.

Wipedaler for Model Number PDW8480J10SS

After removing the filter sump, it appeared as if (1) a portion of the inner structure (that leads to the left in the main view of this part) had deteriorated, and (2) that the inside was caked with chalky white material. The white material seemed to flake off in small pieces. Would that material clog the nozzles, or is it drained away? Is it common to have to replace this sump after ~7 years of use? How big of a job is it to replace this part? Thanks!

Hello Wipedaler. It depends on how much is inside the sump if it will clog it. Usually this happens from using to much soap in the dishwasher. If you can not clean it out, you will need to replace the sump assembly WD18X10026.
