The Inlet Sump is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. Located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, the carefully contoured inlet sump collects and transports dirty wash water containing food debris to the filtration system. Its inlet ports and drainage routes optimize flow for thorough cleaning cycles.

Symptoms of a problem with the inlet sump include:

  • Poor drainage or water not properly collecting at the bottom of the tub
  • Clogged or leaking drainage valves that impact water circulation
  • Buildup of food or grime that blocks water movement

Causes can be normal wear and accumulation of debris over time. Mineral deposits from hard water may also cause drainage issues.

This part is also compatible with Hotpoint and some Kenmore dishwashers.

Grace for Model Number GE Under Sink: Part WD18X214

My GE under-the-sink dishwasher is leaking. I had Sears home repair in and their price to fix is very high--nearly $500. The person who did diagnostic said it's the pump connector: WD18X214. I found this part but the clamp number he gave me appears to be wrong as I can't find it: WDX1376. Does anyone know the correct camp number. And can I do this without removing dishwasher, i.e from inside, or some type of sealant with which I can plug hole? Thanks.

Hello Grace, the clamp part is Clamp WD1X1376 {AP2038363} .No sealants are used. We have a repair video on this part at https://www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-pump-connect-wd18x214-ap2039426.html.

Hello Maureen, it would not need cleaning unless you see it clogged with food particles.

Repairman for Model Number GSD4260J00SS

Does anyone know what the sump inlet is made from? Is it silicone? I read through the comments/question before posting, and only saw one reference that spoke of rigidity of the newer replacement parts. My sump inlet disintegrated in the presence of chlorinated water, an improperly routed drain line, and no air gap. It was about 12 years old. I'm wondering if GE recognized that municipal water supplies use chlorine or chloramine to treat their water and it eats away at silicone based consumer products, and may have modified the manufacturing process/materials of the worn-out part.

Repairman, to the best of our knowledge, the sump inlet has always been a co polymer/combination compound. Most manufacturers would be aware of the various water conditions, and make as many design changes as needed to compensate for the majority of circumstances/conditions. (they can't compensate for 100 % of world but can account for 90% of the most common circumstances.

Kim, The part number for the inlet sump is WD18X213 and would be made of a harder type of plastic but still has flexibility with it.

Jerry, You will want to check around the clamp for it being dry rotted or split. If it is then you would need to replace the sump inlet WD18X213.

Brian, You'll need to redo everything you did before, including carefully removing the inlet sump from the tub. You'll need to check and clean, any and all debris that has accumulated on the tub and under the seal of the sump. You normally don't need to use a sealant between the tub and sump assembly, but it won't hurt, Also check and make sure the inlet is not creased, torn, or has a pin hole, and properly seat and "lock" the retainer portion onto the tub.

Hi Dale. You will use rubbing alcohol to clean surfaces. You can either use white lithium grease part # is GE281, or WD-40 to lightly coat surfaces upon installation. Work it in from both inside and outside of the tub. Thank you.

Hello Russ. You will need to work from the inside of the tub and the bottom of the tub to do this repair. It seals to the tub with the rubber gasket on it. Hope this helps.
