My dishwasher will not start and if it does it generally only makes it through the beginning of the cycle and then stops and the lights go off on the keypad. I can hear the water running at the start of the cycle but then it stopped shortly after. The digital display on the keypad also looks like it's missing some of the indicators that make up the numbers. Would a bad keypad of fact the dishwasher only making it through a part of the wash cycle?

Jeff, Yes, a faulty key pad assembly WD34X11158 / WD34X11158 can cause the problem as you described it. You also want to check and make sure the door and the door switches remain closed and latched, and the switches maintain the closed contacts in the switch.

Hello Gene. First you will need to remove the inner door panel after the power to the unit has been disconnected. Then you should be able to access the ribbon cable. Remove the ribbon cable from the board and remove the board from the panel. Now you wan unpeel the old keypad and install the new one in reverse order.

Lee, With this problem starting in conjunction with the water temp being lowered then this may be the issue. The water temperature must be at a minimum of 120 degrees and if the unit is not sensing that temp it will heat the water to the proper temp and will sit idle until temp is reached. If you increase the setting on the water tank again and see if the unit works properly after the water heater has come to temp then this will tell you if that is the issue.

Hello E Stanton. It sounds like the exhaust vent WD12X10270 may be allowing moisture to enter the door and you will need to replace the vent as well as the keypad WD34X11158 on the unit.

I am having problems with my keypad. The up and down arrows don't work. I unplug the dishwater, but still can't select the type of cycle after restoring the electricity. I assume that my keypad may have gone bad. I first will unplug the keypad and see if reconnecting will fix the problem. How do I get access to the plug on this keypad? Do you have to remove all 12 screws around the inner door lip to remove the inner door wall? And when I do remove this inner door wall, do I need to be aware of any other parts that may fall out since I am removing the door? It looks like (form your photo) that this keypad is attached to the dishwasher by a adhesive sticker? Thank you for your help!
