This dishwasher keypad is the membrane touchpad behind the control console. It registers your button presses so you can select cycles and options. Replacing a failed keypad restores reliable button response and allows the dishwasher to start. What it does / symptoms:

  • Provides the user interface for cycle and option selection
  • Sends button-press signals through the ribbon connector to the electronic control
  • Buttons are unresponsive or work intermittently
  • Dishwasher won't start when Start/Reset is pressed
  • Indicator lights may come on but controls don't respond to input
What's included:
  • One keypad
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
  • Access the console/door area to reach the keypad and control
  • Carefully release the ribbon connector; avoid creasing or damaging it
  • Ensure the ribbon is fully seated and correctly oriented in the control board connector before reassembly

For Ge Keypad (Touchpad) (Part Number: OEM11984349)

Graham for Model Number GLD6968R10SS

I have a GLD6968R10SS and the keypad went out, I was able to find a WD34X11210 (keypad) and install it OK... (for those out there wondering, I got the old one off using a hairdryer, and you have to unscrew the white door lining to connect the ribbon cable to the control panel). Anyway, when I took the door back off, a piece fell out of the door front (I don't see it on the part diagram). It seems to be to route the vented steam from where it comes out of the inner door to the vent on the front panel. Only it is a weird part - it is partly plastic, and partly foam molding (like packing corners)... it has one screw hole which clearly isn't used for anything. It just looks like it is a part from a completely different dishwasher - it has no way to mount securely (other than being pressed between the two door parts)... it seems like I put it back better than it was in before, since now more steam comes out the vent (but it isn't air tight, and I imagine this may be what damaged my keypad in the first place). Has anyone seen something similar?

Hello Graham, Many units of this design had a condensate tube which allowed the moisture that condensed inside the door panels to run back down into the dishwasher tub instead of dripping to the floor. It is held in lace by the door liner when it is installed.

Kaydee, Yes it does appear that the keypad would be the issue and would be the only part to replace.

Hi GB. You will get one corner to lift up and pull the "sticky" part off the keypad from the control panel. It is layed onto the control and held in place by the light glue compound. Keypad part # WD34X11210. Thank You.

Hello GB. Yes, you will need to remove the inner door panel to access the ribbon cable and replace the key pad WD34X11210. Make sure the power is disconnected before doing the repair. Hope this helps.
