This replacement kit combines the washer's drive motor with a protective tub shield. It restores agitation and spin performance and helps guard the new motor from splash-related moisture so your washer runs reliably through complete cycles. What it does:

  • Provides the mechanical power for the washer's agitation and spin functions
  • Tub shield deflects water and debris away from the motor area to reduce moisture exposure
  • Helps with symptoms such as no spin or no agitation, a motor that only hums, or a burning odor from the motor area
  • Useful when the original motor was damaged by leaks or corrosion
What's included:
  • One drive motor and one tub shield
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and water supply before servicing; wear gloves and eye protection
  • Access the motor from the underside/front depending on the model; support the washer securely if tilting
  • Move wiring connectors one at a time and transfer any brackets or pulley/belt components as configured on your unit
  • Seat the tub shield properly, ensure wires are clear of moving parts, then run a test cycle to check operation and for leaks

John for Model Number GTUP270EM0WW

Washer going on 5 years old. I am getting a "Blocked Motor" fault code. The washer stops when it is time to spin/agitate on any cycle. Will not start when pressing the "Start" button. Blinking light is either WASH or SPIN. Wash when on a wash cycle. Spin when on a spin cycle. Only stored error code is the Blocked Motor fault. I have cleared code and attempted to start a new cycle. After reviewing a service manaual. I see a "Hall Sensor" listed in the possible trouble list which is rather short for the error code. Where is the Hall Sensor? Can this part be replaced? If not, does this sound like a bad motor? Also: just want to say APP is the best place to go for parts and help!!!

John,] The blocked motor fault would most likely be caused by a faulty motor which would need to be replaced.
