Joan March 30, 2014 for Model Number GSD500D-03AW Soap dispenser cap won't stay closed, what part do I need.

Lou D October 22, 2012 for Model Number GSD4134Z04WW I did it to myself - falling on sword. I had closed the detergent cup and then forced it open. After that, it would half close and require force to close completely. I could live with that and did for many months. Now, it closes completely but will slip open about a 1/2 inch allowing the soap to run out. I removed the door panel and found the insulation panel had slipped down and was interfering with the latch. I glued that back in place and am waiting for the glue to dry. I am not optimistic that will solve the problem. It does not seem like it should. I am doing more research while waiting for the glue to dry. Any thoughts or other things I should check?
1 Answer Hello Lou, Based on the information provided it sounds like the spring WD3X764 and latch WD16X10011 may be bad. Read More...
T August 26, 2012 for Model Number 36314074793 The detergent cup lid will not open when cleaning cycle is on (I can open it and close it manually). What part do you think I need?
1 Answer Hello T. Clean all parts and make sure they are working freely. If so, test for power coming to the actuator of the dispenser assembly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Glenn O. July 11, 2011 for Model Number General Electric dishwasher GSD900D-03 the detergent cup will not stay closed when you fill it.
1 Answer Glenn, you need to make sure, the timer dial is in the off increment, or the mechanical latch will not latch and lock the door. I don't think the timer cam will be bad but it is a possibility, I would start by dismantling the door and checking the catch lever and the tension spring on the dispenser. Thanks and Good Luck.
