Hello Tom. You will need to take the door apart and see if either of the 2 springs are broke or if the cam is bad.

I did it to myself - falling on sword. I had closed the detergent cup and then forced it open. After that, it would half close and require force to close completely. I could live with that and did for many months. Now, it closes completely but will slip open about a 1/2 inch allowing the soap to run out. I removed the door panel and found the insulation panel had slipped down and was interfering with the latch. I glued that back in place and am waiting for the glue to dry. I am not optimistic that will solve the problem. It does not seem like it should. I am doing more research while waiting for the glue to dry. Any thoughts or other things I should check?

Hello Tom. There should be nothing on the control panel with lights on. Also, you can disconnect the power to the unit before any repairs are done. Hope this helps.

Glenn, you need to make sure, the timer dial is in the off increment, or the mechanical latch will not latch and lock the door. I don't think the timer cam will be bad but it is a possibility, I would start by dismantling the door and checking the catch lever and the tension spring on the dispenser. Thanks and Good Luck.
