The lid lock on my model only locks when it goes to the last spin part of the cycle. That was working as supposed to. It was suggested that replacing the lid lock switch will fix the problem Any ideas?

I also can't open the lid. However .... diagnostics gives me 3 fault codes for a lid lock/switch issue. If the lid lock is engaging like my scenario, will replacing this part even fix this error? Prior to this issue, I was having pretty significant screeching during a portion of the agitation during the wash cycle, which I was about to try to tackle. Now this lock issue . Any way this screeching and lock can be related?
