Zena March 11, 2015 for Model Number JGBP29MEK3BS The stove started to smell like burning wire or melting crayons. The smell was worse when the stove wasn't being used. Could this smell be generated from the power cord needing to be replaced or could it be the start of a more serious problem? All of the electrical functions work, the clock, timer, etc...Should I purchase a new cord?.
1 Answer Zena, While it is very possible that the power cord could be failing, you will also want to check the wiring in the unit to make sure that there are no broken or damaged wires. Read More...
Bonnie March 16, 2013 for Model Number jgbp27bew1wh Would someone with no experience with repairing a stove would I be able to switch out the power cord on stove myself.
1 Answer Bonnie, Yes, you would be able to switch out the power cord on stove even with little experience. You will need to pull unit out. Be careful when you pull out because there will be a gas line connected that may be copper or flex pipe. You want to make sure that you have plenty of tubing to pull out. Once out you will want to unplug unit and turn off the gas. You would then remove the rear cover to expose the power cord wiring. You disconnect cord and plug back in the same as it came off. You may want to wear gloves doing this as there may be sharp edges to the unit. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Kim! The line cord WB18K10036 is the original on the appliance, we do not have the size listed. We do not have a 12' cord listed in our systems, it seems that is more like an extension cord which it is not recommended to use on appliances. Thanks! Read More...
