A replacement magnetron assembly that generates the microwave energy used for cooking and reheating. Installs in countertop and over-the-range microwave ovens to restore normal heating performance when the magnetron fails. What it does:

  • Produces high-frequency microwave energy that heats food inside the oven cavity.
  • Commonly replaces a unit when the microwave stops heating or heats very weakly.
  • Can address symptoms like no/poor heating, intermittent heating, or loud humming from the oven during operation.
  • Not a control or capacitor—this part is the microwave-generating tube and works with the oven's HV system.
What's included: One magnetron assembly. Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power and unplug the appliance before starting service.
  • The high-voltage capacitor can retain a dangerous charge; discharge properly.
  • Handle the magnetron carefully; avoid touching terminals or the antenna.
  • Follow OEM instructions and safety guidelines for reassembly and testing.

Hello John, You will want to check the magnet on the magnetron for cracks. The .3 ohm reading is good but if there is a cracked magnet then the magnetron will read good but not work. You will also want to check the thermal fuse on the magnetron to make sure that it is good.

Hello TJ. Based on the information you provided, the magnetron WB27X10735 is bad and will need to be replaced. Test the magnetron. It should read less than 1 ohm and should read open to ground. If bad, replace it.

I have a ge spacemaker microwave oven (JVM3670SF02) and it started to smell electrical burnt every i start it. Opened the side panel and fired-up the mcirowave and witnessed big sparks coming out from the terminals of the magnetron. Tested with ohmeter and read...1.6 ohms. Also tested the diode, not getting any reading (open on both sides). Is this common that if you have a bad diode, it will eventually ruin the magnetron ? can you please provide part number for both diode and magnetron for my unit ? thanks, Sonny

Hello Paul, The smell may be coming from something that was put into the microwave. The unit itself does not have anything that would emit a chemical odor.
