Manufacturer Part Number: WB27X10735

A replacement magnetron assembly that generates the microwave energy used for cooking and reheating. Installs in countertop and over-the-range microwave ovens to restore normal heating performance when the magnetron fails. What it does:

  • Produces high-frequency microwave energy that heats food inside the oven cavity.
  • Commonly replaces a unit when the microwave stops heating or heats very weakly.
  • Can address symptoms like no/poor heating, intermittent heating, or loud humming from the oven during operation.
  • Not a control or capacitor—this part is the microwave-generating tube and works with the oven's HV system.
What's included: One magnetron assembly. Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power and unplug the appliance before starting service.
  • The high-voltage capacitor can retain a dangerous charge; discharge properly.
  • Handle the magnetron carefully; avoid touching terminals or the antenna.
  • Follow OEM instructions and safety guidelines for reassembly and testing.

For Ge Magnetron Assembly (Microwave Oven) (Part Number: OEM11378703)

Hello Bernie, I've discussed this with multiple manufacturers and the answer is about 70/30. Most of them say there is no conclusive test, short of applying voltage and trying it. The other 30% or so say you can test from one lead to ground to make sure it's not internally shorted, and from on lead to the other it should read anything but open. The best indication is if you have it out, look at the mag tube. If the end of the tube appears burned, don't even waste your time reinstalling it as it will fail completely very soon.

Chad, You most likely have a faulty monitor switch WB24X830 or primary switch WB24X829 causing the circuit to the fan and oven light to activate. We're sending you some additional information to help you out. Good Luck and Thanks

Tony, the thermostat WB27X10166 attaches to the magnetron WB27X317 and is the other terminals that you are speaking of. You will need to take the thermostat off the previous magnetron and install it on the new one. Thanks.

Shauna for Model Number JVM1430BD002

It often stops working after two to five seconds, then usually displays "PF." After pushing the clear button it continues running, and either stops again after a few seconds or completes the cycle. After a couple weeks, it rarely completed a cook cycle but would repeatedly stop. Once in a while, the circuit breaker would trip and the display would go blank (of course). After resetting the circuit breaker it could resume operation, but would still have the intermittent stop problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Shauna. The PF -code is power failure. If the magnetron is shorted, it will make a growling loud noise. Is This happening right before it trips the breaker? You may need the magnetron part # is WB27X10735. The diode needs changing under these circumstances also part # WB27X1160. Thank you.

Hello Pat. You will need to check and see if the magnetron WB27X10735 is cracked in the magnets or if the tip is burnt out. If so, it is bad. To test with an ohm meter, across the two terminals should be less than 1 ohm and from the terminals to the case would be open. You will need to remove the outer cover off the microwave to access the magnetron. It is located behind the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Hugh! Some of the GE models JVM1650BB have a magnetron/stirrer kit. The part number you are supplying WB27X10017, our part number WB27X10735, seems to only be the magnetron. What is your full model number? We will need this to verify the part numbers for your unit. Thanks.
