Bernie July 07, 2012 Can the magnetron test good, (less than 1 ohm), with an ohm meter and still be bad?
1 Answer Hello Bernie, I've discussed this with multiple manufacturers and the answer is about 70/30. Most of them say there is no conclusive test, short of applying voltage and trying it. The other 30% or so say you can test from one lead to ground to make sure it's not internally shorted, and from on lead to the other it should read anything but open. The best indication is if you have it out, look at the mag tube. If the end of the tube appears burned, don't even waste your time reinstalling it as it will fail completely very soon. Read More...
Chad C May 05, 2012 for Model Number GE JVM1330BW 003 When I close the door of my microwave it comes on just running at o power when I try to adjust the power level it says power level cannot be set at this time, when I try to enter something else it shows but it's on standby and won't initiate since the microwave is running on its own. Please Advise as I have for all intents and purposes a non functioning microwave oven. Thanks, Chad C
1 Answer Chad, You most likely have a faulty monitor switch WB24X830 or primary switch WB24X829 causing the circuit to the fan and oven light to activate. We're sending you some additional information to help you out. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Tony March 29, 2012 for Model Number GE jvm1410bc 001 I have amagnetron # om75p(10) which has a two prong connection and another two prong connection above that. Your replacement only has 1 two prong connection. If this is replacement part what do I do with two wires that use to go into other connection?
1 Answer Tony, the thermostat WB27X10166 attaches to the magnetron WB27X317 and is the other terminals that you are speaking of. You will need to take the thermostat off the previous magnetron and install it on the new one. Thanks. Read More...
Bstewart March 21, 2012 for Model Number JVM3670CF02 Are there cheaper aftermarket magnatrons and diodes available to replace the AP2025937 and AP2026385?
1 Answer Hello Bstewart. Yes, TJ2M217JB is the magnetron and WP13091701 is the diode. Hope this helps. Read More...
Nick January 05, 2012 for Model Number JVM1870SF001 G.E. XL 1800 Spacemaker The Microwave runs and sounds normal but doesn't heat the food. Any thoughts ?
1 Answer Nick, Some other possibilies are :An open magnetron thermal cut out WB27X10166 on the magnetron, open diodeWB27X1160 capacitor WB27X10011 or even a control board WB27X10604. There are several components to check, and you'll need a multimeter TJMA-DMT3 to conduct circuit and resistance checks. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Jon October 13, 2011 for Model Number JVM1460AA 001 I have a above range hood/microwave combo. Heard pop, continues to run as if it were working, but doesn't heat food. Is the AP2025937 the right model magnetron for this unit? All the info I could find indicates it is for a "counter top unit".
1 Answer Hello Jon. Based on the model number you provided, WB27X10735 is the correct magnetron for the microwave. Hope this helps. Read More...
Shauna August 22, 2011 for Model Number JVM1430BD002 It often stops working after two to five seconds, then usually displays "PF." After pushing the clear button it continues running, and either stops again after a few seconds or completes the cycle. After a couple weeks, it rarely completed a cook cycle but would repeatedly stop. Once in a while, the circuit breaker would trip and the display would go blank (of course). After resetting the circuit breaker it could resume operation, but would still have the intermittent stop problem. Any advice would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hi Shauna. The PF -code is power failure. If the magnetron is shorted, it will make a growling loud noise. Is This happening right before it trips the breaker? You may need the magnetron part # is WB27X10735. The diode needs changing under these circumstances also part # WB27X1160. Thank you. Read More...
Pat F. August 18, 2011 for Model Number EMO3000CCC 01 My Microwave flashed and then stopped heating. It seems to work otherwise - clock, timer, etc. Can I just replace the magnetron or are there other things that could have gone wrong? How do I get to the magnetron? Can I test the magnetron with an ohm meter? Thanks, Pat
1 Answer Hello Pat. You will need to check and see if the magnetron WB27X10735 is cracked in the magnets or if the tip is burnt out. If so, it is bad. To test with an ohm meter, across the two terminals should be less than 1 ohm and from the terminals to the case would be open. You will need to remove the outer cover off the microwave to access the magnetron. It is located behind the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Kenneth E. June 16, 2011 for Model Number JVM3670BF02 Is your part # AP2025937 the same part as WB27X10017?
Hugh May 26, 2011 for Model Number JVM1650BB Does the WB27X10017 Magnetron come with the diode and stirrer plate for GE Model number JVM1650BB. If not do you carry the parts and what are the part numbers so I can order them? Thank You.
1 Answer Hello Hugh! Some of the GE models JVM1650BB have a magnetron/stirrer kit. The part number you are supplying WB27X10017, our part number WB27X10735, seems to only be the magnetron. What is your full model number? We will need this to verify the part numbers for your unit. Thanks. Read More...
