Matt, The venture assembly does not unscrew but just turns and lifts out. There is no trick to this.

Hello Scott. You will need to replace the retainer for the upper spray arm. The model number will have to be verified on the units I.D. tag since the one listed came up invalid. This will be necessary to look up and specific parts such as the one you requested. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. Here is a link to help you locate it. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx

Mark for Model Number GSD6660G02SS

The plastic part which the screw for the upper spray arm screws into is stripped out. One post states to replace the main conduit. However, in the GSD6660G02SS it appears the plastic receptacle is a separate piece which looks to be press fit into the top of the dishwasher enclosure. Is this piece included with the main conduit? Or has mine broken away...I just want to be sure I have the parts to enable the screw to hold tight and fasten the spray arm correctly. Thanks.

Mark, The main conduit would have all the parts required to be able to install the upper spray arm. You will want to replace the main conduit WD12X10057.

Our dishwasher is making a growling noise when cleaning, but not when draining. I suspected one of the wash arms was vibrating. By removing each of the wash arms and the fitting on the main conduit, I was able to determine the vibration was coming from the conduit so I'll be replacing that. My question is there is no screw securing the conduit to the back of the washer but there is clearly a mounting point for one. Should the screw be used and what part number screw should I use?

Hello Eric! Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer the screw as a replacement part. Sorry!

Jacob for Model Number GLD4560N

I had to take apart this conduit to clean some gunk out of the filter sump because my dishwasher wasn't draining. I accidentally snapped the plastic tab that holds the piece attached to the bottom of the tub with the hose going into it. It still seems to function fine and I don't see how the hose could pull out in normal use unless there was a really large amount of pressure. Is this tab really necessary or should I not worry about it if the washer seems to be working fine.

1 Answer

Hello Jacob, If the part WD12X10057 is held in position and there is the water pressure is not leaking past it, it will be fine. If you lose any water pressure from this point, the dishes will not clean as good.

Jack for Model Number GSD6660G10SS

The dishwasher is making a vibration noise during the wash and rinse cycles. A while back we had a GE service tech out who couldn't fix it and when I looked he clearly broke more parts than he fixed. The main conduit has a crack in the part that joins up with the hose that brings the water up to the top arm and the piece that clips it to the hose is gone. Is is possible that this would cause such harsh vibration? I've cleaned the filter and pulled some junk out what I believe to be the impeller (forward of the filter?) but I am still getting this vibration. No vibrations when the unit fills/empties, only when the arms are spinning. Think it's worth replacing the "Main Conduit" (AP3183362) based on the cracks and lose connection? Unit it 8+ years old now.

1 Answer

Jack, Of this conduit is damaged then yes it can most certainly can cause the vibration noise that you are hearing from the unit.

Fred, Check to make sure the dishwasher is filling properly. Start the dishwasher in a cycle and let it run 3 to 5 minutes. unlatch the open the door and remove the lower rack. The water level in the front of the tub in the left hand corner should be 1/3 to 1/2 way up the float cover WD12X10051 If there's not enough water in the tub, the pump can't produce the pressure to rotate the arms, and wash properly. You'd want to replace the fill valve WD15X10003 if that's the case.

Christina, No, there are no "O" rings or seals involved in the water tower conduit(s) or spray arms. Most of the noises in a dishwasher are due to lack of proper water supply, or debris in the sump and or impeller. Check and make sure the water level in the bottom of the tub is approximately 1 to 1 1/2 in. deep where the flaot is lovated in the left front of the tub. Remove the sump cover and filter WD22X10077 and check for excess debris in the filetr and sump assembly.
