  • Monitors inputs from the lid lock and other sensors for safe, accurate operation
  • Interfaces with the user controls to run the selected wash program
  • Typical failure symptoms: won't start or power up; no fill/agitate/spin/drain; stops mid-cycle; error codes or unresponsive controls
What's included: 1 main control board assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing and handle the board with ESD protection
  • Access the control at the top/rear area, transfer connectors one at a time to the same positions, and secure the board in the original mounting
  • After installation, restore power and run the unit's diagnostic/service mode to verify operation; some models may require a configuration/personality step per the tech sheet

1 Answer

Roger, Yes, the main board would certainly be the most likely cause for this issue.

Ken, Check the pressure hose to ensure that it is not clogged in any way but if that is good then the main control board will be the most likely cause for this issue.

Lorenzo, The best option is to get the tech sheet from inside the unit and put it into service diagnostics and see if there are any error codes. This will help to guide you to what may be wrong with the unit.

Washer stops after agitating, does not progress to drain and spin or rinse. Found that the drain pump motor was damaged. The motor rotor had "eaten" through the housing causing the rotor to lock up. Replaced same. Lid lock mechanism was not working so I replaced the entire lid lock mechanism (Harness, switch, etc.). Running through the maintenance diagnostics I could now get the tub to drain but the spin test would not work since the lid lock would not lock. Checked the J513 connector on the control board and found that one pin (1 or 3) had 120vac constantly ON (is this proper?). From the J513 connector to the lid lock switch I measured 100 ohms between pins 1 & 3 with the lid closed and zero ohms with the lid open. No other continuity could be found between pins 1 - 2, or 2- 3. I am now out of $156+ and debating whether I should purchase a new control board. Any thoughts on this??

Bozosboss, With what you have tested, it does sound likely that the control board will be the cause for this issue.

Tom for Model Number GTW330ASK2WW (G3)

My washer was not agitating, rinsing or spinning after a heavy unbalanced load. I checked the error codes in field test mode and of the several code, two pointed toward the Mode Shifter, which I replaced. The washer spun once in test mode but when I started a load, it agitated but failed to spin again. So I ordered a control board and received the instructions in the package... Regarding the Personality ID, my washer has stickers on the back of it and in the control board cabinet identifying G3 but the instructions for Personality don't identify G3... It has K0/K1/K2/K3/K4 for the GTW330

1 Answer

Tom, the model provided would use the personality for the GTW330**K2 as the asterisks are indicating the two letters prior to the letter and number K2.

The initial issue was that the washer was not draining or spinning, my technician suggested changing the control board after doing numerous tests. The control board was changed to WH22X32357, an updated model of the original board. After the board was changed, the initial draining/spinning issue was resolved but now the machine isn't filling to a proper water level. The max level it will fill is at a depth of 2 inches deep. I've selected small, med, large, and super water levels with and without the deep rinse option but the water level has not changed.
