This replacement orifice spud for the cooktop surface burner threads into the orifice holder to meter gas flow, helping ensure proper flame size and reliable ignition for consistent cooking performance. What it does:

  • Meters gas flow to the surface burner through a calibrated opening
  • Helps produce stable, properly sized flames for even cooking
  • Replace if the original spud is clogged, stripped, or damaged
  • Common symptoms include weak/low or no flame, yellow/orange flames, uneven heating, or delayed ignition
What's included:
  • 1 orifice spud
Install notes:
  • Turn off the gas supply and disconnect power; allow the appliance to cool completely
  • Remove grates, burner caps, and burner heads to access the orifice holder
  • Use the correct spud for the specific burner position and gas type per your model documentation
  • Start threads by hand and tighten snugly without overtightening; after reassembly, check for leaks with a soapy-water solution and verify ignition and flame

Tim for Model Number jgbs60ref1ss

Hi, i have GE range - jgbs60ref1ss It's been converted to LP by previous owner, and i'm looking to make it back to work on Nat Gas. I need original set of Orifice for Nat Gas, but all i can find is for LP. Looks like the Nat Gas orifice manufacturing for my particular model was discontinued. I'm assuming all GE made orifice would fit any of GE stoves as they are interchangeable, as long as BTU output matches, but i could be wrong. My user manual says I need one large 12,500btu, two medium 9000btu, and one small 5000btu for my range. Let me know if you have something that would work.

Hello Bruce. The orifice is the part that lets a small amount of gas come out into the burner. The hole size determines the amount of gas released.

Mrs V. You will want to tighten the oven orifice 1 1/2 to 2 turns and open the air shutter fully on the burner tube. This should correct the issue.

Mita, We do not have information on weber grills but would say if the unit was set up originally for Natural gas then it would not be convertible to LP but would want to check with the manufacturer for this.

Jimbo, Unfortunately we do not have any information on this grill but it sounds likely that with the N at the end of the model that this unit can only be used on Natural gas.
