The Bake Element is an OEM part for GE ovens, designed to provide the heat necessary for baking. This element is located at the bottom of the oven cavity and heats up when electricity is applied, converting electrical energy into heat to cook food evenly.

Over time, however, the bake element can wear out or become damaged.

Symptoms of a bad Bake Element include:

  • Visible signs of wear or damage, such as blistering, cracks, or breaks in the element.
  • A burnt out element that no longer glows red or heats up.
  • Food not baking evenly or thoroughly.

This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Questions & Answers

For Ge Bake Element (Part Number: OEM6093000)

Wayne, Yes, the L2(red), 120 VAC power supply is constant to the bake and broil elements, as long as the power at the outlet is present. The L1(black) 120 VAC power supply is through the ERC/Clock relays. There are a couple of possibilities that occurred, the element WB44T10011 may have degraded collapsed and shorted to the chassis. There could have been some spillage in the oven that migrated through the carborundum coating of the element, causing it to flame up.

Gary, You can test the oven bake element WB44X10013 for resistance to see if it has 17 ohms of resistance. The bake element should have resistance of around 17 ohms for being good. Also put the unit on bake and check from bake to L1 for 240 vac. If there is not 240 vac then the oven control is bad and would need to be replaced.

Hello Andrea, Could you re-check that model number? I found model JBP35B0H2CT. It has a broil element WB44T10009 in the top of the oven and a bake element WB44T10011 in the bottom of the oven. Hope this helps!
