The Oven Bake Burner is an OEM part for GE gas ovens. It is responsible for providing the heat necessary for baking by distributing an even flame across the oven cavity. This burner tube measures approximately 20" in total length and 6" in height. This burner is compatible with both liquid propane (LP) and natural gas (NG) setups, with the settings determined by the regulator.

Causes of a bad oven bake burner can include wear and tear from frequent use, clogging from food debris or grease, or damage from exposure to high temperatures. A malfunctioning burner can lead to uneven cooking and longer baking times.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Bake Burner include:

  • Uneven baking or cooking results
  • Weak or no flame when the bake function is activated
  • Delayed ignition or clicking sounds without ignition
  • Unusual smells or visible damage to the burner

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Oven Bake Burner (Part Number: OEM10256340)

Scott for Model Number JGB660DEJ5BB

Brand new stove. Did the Propane conversion. Surface units, Broil burner work as they should. The Bake burner has a high yellow flame with little blue at the base. I have opened the air shutter all the way as the instructions say. I have slowly closed it until all the way shut checking the difference. At all settings of the air shutter adjustment, the flame and size of the flame remains the same. If I do not cancel the bake, within a minute of checking the flame, the oven will beep and automatically cut off. Then, I have to wait until it cools down before it will go to pre heat mode again. Any suggestions on what is going on with this bake burner and what to do next? Thanks, Scott

Hello Scott, check that the oven LP burner orifices are correct, LP orifice for the broil burner is marked 0.041 with a red dot, the LP orifice for the bake burner is marked 0.047 with an orange dot. next burner's air shutter should be wide open, if flames are still yellow check the burner tube itself , sometimes an insect can crawl into it and cause the same problem. When checking the oven burner with the oven door open, try holding the door switch in and see if the oven heating stays on, some manufacturers do not allow the oven to heat with the door open past a certain time.

Nathaniel, it is possible that there may be a partial restriction in the orifice hood, or blocked up burner holes, that can be cleared out with the gas off and the power cord unplugged from the unit. If there is not a partial clog, then the most likely issue would be the valve assembly WB19K10079.

Hello Michael, You will most likely need to replace the burner for this unit to correct the issue if there is no foil added to the bottom of the unit that could be interfering with proper air flow. For a more detailed diagnosis and part numbers for the units' repair, we will need to ask you to post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Greg, You're more or less on track. Weak or broken igniters account for 95% of baking problems in a gas range. You'll need to remove the oven bottom panel and flame spreader. Program a bake cycle or temperature and observe the ignitor. It should start to glow in a matter of seconds. After 30 to 60 seconds it should have a "white hot" glow to it and the gas safety valve should open and the burner flame should ignite. If it glows orange to red the igniter is most likely weak, if there's no glow at all it is probably cracked and or broken.

Chuckolboy, Based on this issue it sounds like the oven safety valve is stuck open and you would want to replace the valve part number WB19K31.

Hello Dwight. The burner does not come LP, or NG. The Lp setup is set on the regulator. If you are currently LP you would not need to do anything except install the burner.

Hello Ms. Coleman. If just the igniter is bad, then you do not need the burner. If the burner is rusted, you will need to order the assembly for the unit.

Hello Dave, You are probably smelling a little gas when you open the door, in which case you would want to replace the safety valve [WB19K10044] on oven.
