Questions & Answers

For Ge Oven Control Board (Part Number: OEM9424896)

Dan, On either side of the ribbon cable, where it connects to the board, you will push in on the clip and lift up. Once lifted you should be able to pull the ribbon harness out of the connector. Then push the harness into the new connector and push down on the clips. If you are unable to get the ribbon harness into the connector on the new board lift up on the clips like on the old one.

Hello Dave, This is most likely a wiring issue in the case of the part you were viewing. I was unable to locate the correct tech sheet for the unit since the model number posted is for a washing machine. You should pull the tech sheet for the unit and use it in conjunction with the part instruction sheet. Please note the comment on the part page you were viewing, "Please Note: Wiring may be different from the original and may require a technician to install."

Brad W for Model Number JPT27

I'm not sure what the full model number is on my wall oven since the information on the plate is damaged but my question is regarding the control panel. It presently have a Torisan 010750350 or GE WB27T10266 for the board. I can submit pictures of the two oven unit. The JPT27 unit is white with two knobs on the far right for bottom oven. The reason for the inquiry is because it has been showing a "F7" error code. I recently cleaned the strips on the connection wire but the unit is close to 19 years old and I'm sure the control board is getting to it's final days. Thanks in advance, Brad

Brad, Here is how to determine if the issue with the unit is the control board or the keypanel. 1. Pushing clear/off pad 2. disconnect ribbon cable from the control and wait at least 32 seconds to see if the code reoccurs. If the code recurs, problem is in the control and it would need to be replaced. If the code does not reoccur then replace the keypanel WB36T10467.

Jillian, If there is actually an over temperature then you would want to replace the control board. You can look for welded relay contacts on the bake or broil relays.
