James February 14, 2013 for Model Number JGSP31GER1WG Similar to other questions: erratic and always low oven temperatures. For a while I thought it was a 30 degree difference, but lately it seems to be allover the place. (I did the reset). My question is: I have a multimeter and I understand I should test the oven sensor. Do I have to disassemble the unit to test the sensor? If so, how do I do that? Do I have to slide the unit out from the wall? Thanks for any help you can give.
1 Answer Hello James, Yes in order to test the oven sensor you will need to pull the unit out from the wall and disconnect power. Remove the rear cover of unit and disconnect the sensor. Check the resistance of sensor for 1090 ohms. The allowance is 10 percent. If not within range then you would need to replace sensor. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Cindy. Open oven sensor. Test the sensor and see if it is around 1100 ohms at room temp. If not, replace the sensor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jeffrey B January 31, 2013 for Model Number JBP64BOB4WH When I set the oven temperature to a certain temp. The oven preheated light comes on before the temperture is achieved, and the temperature never reaches the desired temp.
1 Answer Hello Jeffrey, You will want to do a resistance check on the oven sensor. The resistance should be 1090 ohms plus or minus 10 percent at room temp. If not within range then you will need to replace the oven sensorWB21X5301. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Joe January 14, 2013 for Model Number GE wall oven jkp27wov1ww Oven heats up and then randomly shuts off and displays F3.
Kate January 06, 2013 for Model Number JGBP79WEW1WW Purchased this stove new in 1998-- temperature has been off about 25 degrees (to low). What could cause this.
1 Answer Hello Kate, You will want to calibrate unit by following these steps: 1 Press bake 2 Select any temperature above 500 degrees 3 Quickly press and hold bake for approximately 5 seconds until "00" or the previously entered temperature is displayed. 4 Tap the arrow up or down to change the oven temperature for +35 or -35 in 5 degree increments 5 Press Clear/Off to return to normal operation. Tim December 27, 2012 for Model Number JKP14W0V1WW I have a wall mount GE oven, model number JKP14W0V1WW with a fault code F2. What sensor do I need?
1 Answer Hello Tim, On the F2 error code it can mean 1 of 2 things depending on the conditions. If the unit was in use and actually had an overtemp condition then you would want to look for welded contacts on the bake or broil relays on the clock assembly. If there are burnt contacts then replace control board. If there was not an over temperature that occurred then check the resistance of the oven sensor. The sensor should read 1100 ohms at room temperature. Check the wiring from the sensor to the clock to make sure that the wiring is not damaged. If the Sensor does not have proper reading then replace oven sensor [AP2023670} Read More...
Danny December 21, 2012 for Model Number Rgb746hed2wh gas oven I'm getting erratic temperatures from the oven. It heats to 300° but the actual temperature in the bake compartment is 150°, I heated it to 525° and it got to 475°. Temperatures are way off. Is this a bad temp sensor, bad ignitor, or just a calibration issue? Keep in mind, it was the correct temperature at one time. I just don't wanna throw parts at it guessing, that starts to get expensive. Thanks, Danny
1 Answer Hello Danny, This sounds like the temperature sensor WB21X5301 is out of tolerance. You should realize that, without measuring the resistance to ensure a resistance of about 1100O at about 70°F and tapping on it in case of an intermittent connection, this would be throwing a temperature sensor at it. The reason I bring this up is the fact that the control circuit that reads this temperature information sent by the sensor could have the problem. There could also be an issue with the harness that connects the two. As a general rule of thumb, if the sensor tests good and the harness isn't pinched too tightly in a wire tie, the control WB27K10140 is usually the component at fault. Read More...
Kyle R December 17, 2012 for Model Number JKP14WOT1WW When I pull up the parts page for my GE in wall oven, and pull up the oven sensor listed, I type in the same oven model number that brought me to the page in the item compatablity box and it say the sensor is not compatible. Makes no sense. Your quick response is much appreciated as i need to get this ordered.
1 Answer Hello Kyle, The correct oven sensor for your unit is WB21X5301. The compatiblity chart would show that the part is not compatible due to the O in the model number. If you put in model as JKP14WT1WW it will show compatible. Read More...
Ray A December 13, 2012 GE Double oven #JKP27, oven will not hold preset temp. Temp varies up to 45 degrees.
1 Answer Hello Ray. Test the oven sensor WB21X5301 and see if it reads around 1100 ohms at room temperature. If so, replace the control of the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Mike December 11, 2012 for Model Number jkp56boa2bb i have replaced the part #wb27t10282 . when ifirst recieved the call it aproblem with the top oven. It was not working at all but the bottom oven is working fine i replaced the control board but to no succes same problem
1 Answer Hello Mike, You may want to check the limit switches WB24K5085 and WB24K5049 to make sure that they are not open circuit. You can do a continuity check on these. If there is no continuity then that means they are open. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
