The Oven Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for GE ovens. This part monitors the oven's internal temperature, ensuring it matches the set temperature on the oven's controls. By accurately measuring the heat inside the oven, the sensor assembly communicates with the oven's control system to adjust the temperature accordingly.

Over time, the oven sensor can become faulty due to wear or damage, leading to inaccurate temperature readings. This can manifest as unevenly cooked food, longer cooking times, or an oven that fails to reach the desired temperature setting.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly include:

  • The oven temperature is inconsistent with the setting
  • Food is not cooking evenly or as expected
  • The oven fails to heat to the set temperature
  • Error codes appearing on the oven display related to temperature regulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Oven Sensor Assembly (Part Number: OEM6071019)

Dave for Model Number GE Wall Oven: JKP13GP

My GE Electric Oven suddenly started cooking at way too low a temperature - about 1/2 the set temperature (set to 400 degrees, it cooks at about 200). Otherwise everything works normally (electronic keypad works normally, cycles element to hold temperature). About the same time it stopped working, there was a lightning strike/power surge near our house that affected some other electronics, but don't know if this could be related. What could be the problem? Sensor or Control Board? thank you!

Hello Dave. Check and make sure both elements are working in the unit. If so, you will need to test the sensor and see if it is good. If so, you need to order and replace the control board on the unit.

Hello Diner. This depends on the type of appliance you have. For the most part, when an appliance has an issue with a part, an error code will apper to tell you the issue.

Hello Serge. Look for loose connections. If none are found, then the clock WB27K5068 is bad. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part.

Wayne, If the splice was with a couple of porcelain wire nuts, then Yes, the temp sensor probe has most likely been replaced at one time or another. That would be the best place to start as well, Check the resistance of the sensor (1050 to 100 ohms resistance at room temperature) and check to make sure the spliced wires and porcelain wire nuts are tight.

Hello Rob. You can test the sesor. At room temp, it should read around 1100 ohms and at 350° should read around 1650 ohms.

Hello Brenda, On the upper oven, this can be caused by a bad control board WB27K5190 or a bad temperature sensor WB21X5301. The control is more likely the issue since the control is designed to give a fault code should the temperature sensor fail. As far as the date goes, our resource is quoted as follows: This product could have been manufactured on multiple dates. Personal assistance will be needed to date the product more accurately. This product could have been manufactured March of 1982 or 1994 or 2006.

Hello John, This is normally caused by a bad ignitor WB2X9154. The sensor WB21X5301 can only keep the unit from igniting if it is telling the control that the bake compartment is too hot already.

Kay for Model Number JSP26GOP4WH

I turn on the oven to pre-heat....it comes on and will reach 100 degrees then shut off on its own or it will start to heat up and just shut off on its own. If it reaches the desired temp, it will shut off in the middle of my baking. I tried replacing the element, and that did not resolve the issue. It happens on broil mode as well. This problem first appeared after I self cleaned the oven. The range was purchased in 1994 or 1995 and is an electric slide in range. What part do I need to replace? What is the proper part number? thanks
