Cecil December 07, 2012 for Model Number JRP24GP3BG I purchased an oven sensor (WB21X5301) which is a replacement for a part (WB21X5209) that is no longer available. How do I install the new part which has a very short lead and it doesn't connect to the knob for the lower oven?
1 Answer Hello Cecil, If the connector will not fit to the old wiring then you will want to cut and splice together with ceramic wire nuts. Read More...
Michele November 30, 2012 for Model Number JGB920SEC4SS My GE XL44 Self Cleaning Gas Convection Oven (we use propane) does not get above 325 degrees. I've used an oven thermometer to determine what the max temperature is regardless of what you set the oven at. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Michele. The sensor should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature. If it is testing good, you will want to test the elements and make sure they are closed for continuity. If so, and the sensor is good, replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim A. November 21, 2012 for Model Number JKP44GP1 I have GE double wall oven. The panel shows an indication of an "F1" problem. Is this a control board that needs to be replaced? Is this a part that is available from you?
1 Answer Hello Jim, As per the manufacturer: Turn power off to the unit. Check the overlay ribbon cable connection, (clean if necessary). To clean, rub the traces on the ribbon cable with a dry pencil eraser only in the direction the traces run. Disconnect the touch pad. Turn the power back on to the unit. Replace the control if the code reappears in 32 seconds. Replace the touch pad if the code doesn't reoccur. The clock WB27K5047 shows not available and the touch pad WB36K5066 shows that it is available. Read More...
Paul November 21, 2012 for Model Number jgrs14gep1bg My mom's oven will not keep temp up. It registers 550 degrees in about 60 sec. From start up, no error codes show up & you can touch any part in oven & its hardly warm to the touch. Any ideas? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Paul. Test the sensor and make sure it reads 1100 ohms at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor WB21X5301 on the unit. Read More...
Debbie November 14, 2012 for Model Number jgbp34gep3ad Oven will not heat above 100 degrees. Getting a F3 code. What could be the issue?
1 Answer Hi Debbie, the F3 code indicates an "open or shorted oven temperature sensor". Check the oven sensor harness and harness connection between the oven sensor and oven control. Replace the oven temperature sensor WB21X5301 if the wiring connection is ok. Hope this helps! Read More...
Tino M November 09, 2012 for Model Number KenMore 362.75375790 Sensor Part WB21X5301 The oven will preheat, flame comes on, then will go out after preheat .Won't stay on . I measure the Omhs on the temputure sensor,it read 1.04 , is this sensor ok ? What could it be . The Igniter is new. Nov. 9, 2012
1 Answer Hello Tino, Based on the information provided it sounds like the coils on the gas valve WB19K14 have gone bad. Read More...
Pete November 07, 2012 for Model Number RF725GP5BG I have a Hotpoint Drop-In Range and the burners work fine, but the oven will not work. When I press BAKE, then put in desired temperature, and press BAKE again, it says ON and after several seconds it switches to 100 Degrees as it always has. Here is what goes wrong all of a sudden--instead of climbing temperature to desired input temperature--after about 15 seconds it merely 'shuts off' (the lighted up temperature and ON just turn off). The only thing I can think is maybe it is the oven sensor? It did this about a month ago, but then I tried it the next day and it worked fine until now.
1 Answer Hello Pete, This sounds like the ERC WB27K5140 has failed. The temperature sensor will not shut the unit down without a fault code popping up. Read More...
Stevie October 21, 2012 for Model Number gas oven model rgb745beh4ct How do I install Part Number: AP2023670 MFG Part Number: WB21X5301 Made by: GE
1 Answer Hello Stevie, The oven sensor WB21X5301 is mounted at the back wall of the oven. You should have enough slack in the harness to replace it from the front. Just removed the two mounting screws, unplug the old sensor and install the new one. Be sure when removing the old sensor you don't let your wires slip into the back wall or you will have to get to the back of the unit to make your connection. Hope this helps! Read More...
Jim September 14, 2012 for Model Number JGB905CEFCC The cooktop works fine, the broiler works fine. When the temperature is set at the oven the ignitor appears to light but will not open the gas valve to create a flame. Is it the sensor. If I ohm the sensor should it be around 1100 ohms?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Scott August 22, 2012 for Model Number JKP85WA3WW The Broil Element works fine . Replaced the bake element because the oven would not bake . Still no heat on the new bake element when you set the oven to bake , but the broil element begins to warm up . Help Please
1 Answer Hello Scott. Test for power from the control to the element. If none is there in the bake mode, you will need to order and replace the control WB27T10597 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
