The Oven Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for GE ovens. This part monitors the oven's internal temperature, ensuring it matches the set temperature on the oven's controls. By accurately measuring the heat inside the oven, the sensor assembly communicates with the oven's control system to adjust the temperature accordingly.

Over time, the oven sensor can become faulty due to wear or damage, leading to inaccurate temperature readings. This can manifest as unevenly cooked food, longer cooking times, or an oven that fails to reach the desired temperature setting.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly include:

  • The oven temperature is inconsistent with the setting
  • Food is not cooking evenly or as expected
  • The oven fails to heat to the set temperature
  • Error codes appearing on the oven display related to temperature regulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Ge Oven Sensor Assembly (Part Number: OEM6071019)

Mat, It could be an oven temp.sensor issue, but based on the partial model number you supplied, this should be a gas range, and you may want to start by checking for a weak oven burner igniter WB2X9154(example only) That would be a more likely issue in a slow to heat gas oven. Thanks

Hello Mary, There is a slight chance of the control being at fault, but the likelyhood of the sensor being bad is much higher as per the factory description of the fault code. It basically says that the bake compartment temperature as measured by the oven sensor is over 650° with the door unlatched or over 915° latched. This is possible in the control, but the sensor resistance dictates the reading the control will pop up. Statistically, the sensor WB21X5301 going out of tolerance is the cause. If by chance, the control should happen to be the cause, we will refund the part cost (minus shipping), as long as it is returned to us within 365 days from the date of order.

Hello Wayne. WB21X5301 is the correct part number. You will disconnect the power and remove the screw securing the sensor in the unit. Then pull out the sensor and the connector. Unplug the old sensor and install the new sensor. These are not hard to replace.

Hello Laz. The F2 code is: OVEN OVERTEMPERATURE CONDITION 1) Door unlocked oven exceeded 620° F. 2) Door locked - oven exceeded 930° F. 3) Door Latch unlocked while oven in excess of 620°F. To correct this: 1) If no overtemperature condition occurred: check all contacts and connections in sensor circuit.Eliminate excessive resistance in sensor circuit due to increased contact/connector resistance. 2)If no overtemperature condition occurred: look for welded relay contacts on bake, broil, or double-line-break relays. If realy contact welding is confirmed -REPLACE CONTROL 3) Ensure Door Latch stays locked for duration of Clean Cycle. Hope this helps.

Hello Ferdinand. It sounds like the control is set to Celsius mode and will need to be changed to Fahrenheit mode. To do this, you will need to press bake and broil at the same time until SF appears on the control board. Then press broil and cook time at the same time. A "C" will appear on the display. Press the two buttons again and it will change to an "F". On some controls, once you have entered the sf mode, the broil button will change from "C" to "F" on the control board. Once "F" is selected, you will press start to program the board. Hope this helps.
