Brenda December 02, 2013 for Model Number JBP45G R1 I have a GE electric range (JBP45G R1). When I push Bake, the oven starts to warm slightly for a few seconds then the buzzer weakly buzzes and an F3 code comes up. I have tested the sensor as it registers 1000 ohms. I also noticed that the timer control for this model is not available. What should I try next?
1 Answer Hello Brenda. Yes, it sounds like the control WB27X10268 is bad. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Mani November 26, 2013 for Model Number JB960BY4BB GE OVEN Hi we have a GE oven that's about 10 years old that gives an F3 error whenever we try to use it. We bought a sensor online that wasn't originally meant for this oven. It was a WB21X5301 which we installed into the oven but it didn't work. We tested the original sensor and it said 1100 on the display. Do we have to buy a different temperature sensor or an original from the company? Also our microwave Model # GES1344SK 06 isn't working properly. when we turn it on, the light doesn't turn on, it doesn't turn and it makes an odd noise. The microwave is 2 years old. Thank you for your time.
1 Answer Hello Mani. If the unit is reading 1100 at room temp it is good. You will need to replace the control WB27T10210 on the unit. Read More...

Jeff November 03, 2013 for Model Number GE JGBP35GEP2WG Hello, I have a GE JGBP35GEP2WG. I set the temp for 400, the oven beeps saying its at temp but its only at about 300. Then after about 20 minutes the temp goes up to 600 and burns the food. The display stays at the set temp of 400, but the thermomoter I bought is where im seeing the crazy temp flucuation. Not sure if I need new temp sensor.? Any help would be awsome. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jeff. It sounds like the sensor needs to be replaced. You can test the sensor. It should read 1650 ohms at 350°. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Adam September 19, 2013 I have a 19yr old GE electric Oven. Model - JDP37G0T1BB The oven does not heat to the proper temperature. Ex. - I set it at 400, and it does not go above 260. I replaced the heating element. Is there a way I can determine if this may be a sensor of thermostat issue w/out having to buy both, or trial and error? Is there anything else it could be? Adam
1 Answer Hello Adam, The sensor WB21X5301 should read about 1100 ohms of resistance at about 70°F. If it reads good, turn the power off to the unit and open the control panel. Find the terminal on the control labeled BAKE and remove the wire. Make sure the wire cannot contact ground or any other connector and reconnect power. Set the unit to bake and test for 120Vac at the terminal. If no voltage is there, the control has failed. If 120Vac is there, the other side of the circuit, (the wire you disconnected), should have 120Vac on it. If it does, the element is failing. If it doesn't, you need to trace the circuit to locate the bad connection. This can be at the terminal block, the wall outlet, or the breaker. Read More...
John September 09, 2013 for Model Number kenmore 362.75501990 After turning on oven at 450, after about 20 minutes the oven alarm starts going off unless the oven is turned off. The dispaly gives me an "F1" code...is the oven temperature sensor at fault?
1 Answer John, The F1 error code would be an indication of a stuck keypad on the control which would need to be replaced. Read More...
Chris S September 09, 2013 for Model Number JGBP79AEW1AA I have a GE gas oven JGBP79AEW1AA. The control board recently stopped working. I purchased a new control board and installed it. The clock works. When I hit Bake, it flasses and beeps F3. Which part is it?
1 Answer Chris, The F3 indicates an open sensor circuit. Measure Sensor Circuit Resistance at Sensor. Lock switch connector plug at ERC should be approx. 1100 ohms @ room temp. If Circuit Open look for: open Sensor-measure directly across sensor (pull sensor into oven approx. lo” for access to sensor disconnect. Cut or pinched sensor harness Loss of contact within sensor harness connectors at back of oven or at ERC. Read More...
Jack J August 15, 2013 for Model Number jbp79ws1 When the bake button on our GE range is touched we get the code F4. There was nothing about this code in all the questions. Is this the temp sensor also?
Nancy August 09, 2013 for Model Number JGBP35CEA3CC Should I order an "oven sensor assembly" if the temperature of my gas oven only reaches 100 degrees? Is that the part I need to order?
1 Answer Hello Nancy. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
