Ulf November 25, 2013 for Model Number JVM1790SK01 The surface light (on the bottom of micro) stays on even if the light switch is turned off. Do I need to replace the Control Power Board, Part Number: PS1018328 ?
Elias February 15, 2013 for Model Number JVM1790SK01 The knob and key pad don't work at all. On the display, it shows to set time. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Elias, This sounds like the control board has failed. The tech sheet has a flow chart on it that describes what to check if certain functions don't operate and it points to the PCB assembly WB27X10866. A copy of the tech sheet, or as GE calls it, the mini manual, is inside the unit behind the control board. Read More...
Nick July 28, 2012 for Model Number JVM1790SK01 The knob turns and works sometimes to set the minutes but we have to wiggle it a bit. To start to oven you have to press this knob in; this again has been a problem, we have to press very hard to get it to start. It looks like for what should be just a small switch you have to replace the whole controller board. Is that correct? Thank you!!
1 Answer Hello Nick! Yes, you will need to order the board assembly WB27X10866. Make sure that the knob is not warping. Thanks! Read More...
Peggy October 17, 2011 for Model Number jvm1790owk01 The knob turns freely but doesn't do anything. Can I replace the (Pwb(pcb) Asm Sub Part Number: AP3883436 Made by GE) part by myself or is it something a professional has to do?
1 Answer Hello Peggy. These are not hard to replace. Unplug the unit and remove the two screws in the top of the microwave securing the grill. Remove the grill and open the door and remove the screw securing the control panel in place. Pull out the control panel and remove the control board from the panel. Reinstall with the new control board WB27X10866 in reverse order. Make sure the wires are installed on the new control board the way they come off the old one. Hope this helps. Read More...
